This one is pretty good, other than the Scuderi trade. Avs say no to that one quick, but the other moves are realistic.

Trade 1: As a Habs fan, I graciously accept your offer.

Trade 2: As a Avs fan, "get the f8ck out of my house!"

It's better, but you have to look at it in a cap perspective. Scuds has zero trade value in and of himself, and carries a 3.4 mill hit (rounding). So realistically, any team taking him is taking on 3.4 million in cap space for nothing.

How do we fix that? Obviously we sweeten the pot. Tanguay makes sense to move, because he's older, but his trade value is definitely better than Scuds. On top of that, you asking the Avs to eat an additional 1.5 mill in dead space. So to recap, the Avs lose a respectable, if older, bottom 6 winger, a 4th round pick, and take on almost 5 million in extra cap, all for a second and a prospect no one would even think twice about.

In order to get Tanguay with 1.5 million retained, you'd have to do Scuds + 2nd + higher level prospect, someone along the lines of Sundqvist, etc. You have to give the Avs the incentive to take the cap space, which I don't see in this deal.

Who or what is a "Marcantuoni"?

    Just kidding, smile

No, adding him wont make Joe Sakic go "Marcantuoni? why didn't you say so?????? yes you got yourself deal now!". More like, " Are you serious? Tanguay had 50+ points last year and was one of our best players. why would I do that? I think you need to get the f8ck out of my house Rutherford!"

What value did you add? You added Wilson, who is a possible NHL prospect, but then killed any value added in that trade by adding a prospect coming back from the Avs. You added Ruopp, who has pretty much 0.001% chance of ever seeing NHL action. And you have the Avs giving us a third back, which would essentially be them moving up less than a round (Pens will likely pick later than the Avs).

So essentially, Wilson and Rendulic cancel, so at the end you have Tanguay and a third for Scuderi, Ruopp, and a 2nd. Honestly, it's worse than your second attempt. Here's what you are realistically looking at if you want Tanguay back for Scuds:

To Pens -> Tanguay (no retained)

To Avs -> Scuderi, Sundqvist (or Sprong), 2nd, 4th
