The bottom 6 and bottom 4D are very meh. If they get subpar goaltending , they’re done

FLA is going to be absolutely terrible in 3 years. Worst trade ever.

Probably knew already they couldn't resign them. Cgy could end up with just a 1st at this time next year

Somehow ppl are say the trade is risky for the Flames saying Hubie and Weegar could walk. This aint difficult if they dont resign during the year then Treliving trades them both at the TDL for 2 1sts and good prospects which easily beats the Tkachuk value when you add in the 2025 1st and prospect.

Florida just made Montreal's dreams come true not only making their team worse for the 2023 unprotected 1st but gave the Habs hope that Huberdeau walks and signs there. The prospect of leaving Florida wasnt as good as leaving Calgary

that bobrovsky contract is such a boat anchor. the panthers really can’t make any real improvements if they can’t get rid of him but like, they literally can’t get rid of him.

- Chiarot isn't good, and both of these guys signed pretty poor deals overall with their new respective teams.
- Brunette isn't that good of a coach, if he was, he wouldn't've signed as an ASSISTANT COACH in New Jersey.
- What future? Huberdeau and Weegar were on 1 year deals and were unlikely to stay in the first place. One measly pick in 2025 and an ok prospect isn't "sacrificing the future".
- The defense is weak for sure, and the cap is dire, but I'm certain Zito wouldn't make a huge ass move like this without a plan to gain the cap space back and solidify the D a bit.

Rough bottom six and bottom D. Very top heavy indeed.

Zito is certainly a gun-slinger. He over paid for Chiarot and Giroux. Throwing around 1st round picks like hot cakes. Meanwhile they aren't winning anything with Bob or that D.

What I meant by future was the fact that they already had very few picks and a weak prospect pool and they aren’t going to have the chance to rebuild in those departments any time soon

Also I’m 95% sure Brunette will take over in NJ after Ruff gets canned after another slow start
