Description

I hate the trading for Kane idea in 2022-23, but I understand going after him as a UFA in 2023-24. If the team takes another step this year and contends for a playoff spot, I could see them wanting to make a big splash with a trade due to all of their assets, and Kane being a UFA right when they are about to take the next step makes sense.

Granato coached Kane as an assistant in Chicago and raves about him and his "rink rat" mentality, so I could see where he and Adams believe he is the type of guy that would fit well within what they are trying to build, plus he would help them sell tickets.

It isn't my favorite idea signing him, but it makes sense. I think Mitts is the odd man out when Savoie is ready and Kulich being ready pretty quickly and moved to the wing. Depending on how well Quinn and Peterka play, I can see Olofsson being moved at the 22-23 TDL or in the offseason.

I personally think Cozens is the next captain after Okposo (hypothetically if he is named captain this year) and that he will take a big step this year. I saw earlier on another ACGM a bigger deal for him that pays him more and basically gets him through arbitration, avoiding the Reinhart issue 2.0. Thompson has another year like he did last year.

Otherwise, I have no idea what I am doing.
