Can't see VGK trading Theodore. You could have Martinez or, better yet, offer-sheet Hague.

Maybe one of Calgary’s D are available after trading for Weegar?

True but Theodore is better and can play right side. I know it’s never going to happen but it would be a good way to get some cost controlled players and picks. Both of which Vegas has really lost the last few years

The only cost controlled player they lost was Tuch, which makes sense because it was for Eichel. Patches and Fleury were 7 mil each. Theodore is on one of the most valuable contracts in the league, exactly the kind of contract the Knights can't give up.

Also, after giving Patches up, which sucked, they are not in cap hell anymore.

What I mean is they don’t have many cost controlled players coming up through the system. While not in cap he’ll they still have hague and Roy to sign with no obvious replacements

Brisson and Korczak are cost controlled players coming up through the system that could see some time soon. They also signed Mannanen, who is a league min that could put up some points. They have the space to sign Hague, Roy, and Kolesar.

They no longer need to move anyone to sign everyone they need to. Even if they did, Theodore would not be who they are selling without a monumental return. He is a star on a role players salary. I'm not saying they won't move anyone else for cap space, notably Karlsson or Martinez, but it won't be Theodore, especially not for anything close to this return.

Fair, I don’t necessarily hate the idea of moving Theodore as short term their d is still strong and he’s actually give them a good return. I may be overrating docker as I really like him, plus being a Vegas fan I do try not to be too much of a homer on here with deals so I don’t give them the moon back.Would docker, pinto, 1st, and a 2nd be better or still off too much you think?

I'm a Knights fan too but I don't think it's a homer take to say you are way undervaluing Theodore. He's not only a great player, which he is, he is also on an excellent contract with term. If they trade him, which I think would be a terrible idea, it would have to be for a proven player, an excellent prospect, and a first. Again, though, his value relative to his contract would be crazy to give up. Martinez, although fetching much less of a return, would be the D to ship out. Karlsson, who is one of my favorite players, would also make a lot more sense than Theo, although I think he's going to have a bounce back season.

I think those are more likely moves, just don’t see this bringing back much. I’d just like to see Vegas have that third and fourth line depth that I think really made them strong, whereas now it’s lacking.
