I like it.

I like him but I just don't think we'll give him the minutes he needs to develop properly. Last season he was stuck behind Dumba, Kulikov, Merrill, and Goligoski on the depth chart and unless he has a really big camp I foresee the same for this season. If we can use him to add a right shot scoring forward, that's much more of a need right now. We also have Faber in our system who I imagine Dean would play above Addison once he's ready for the NHL given how much Dean relies on players who are good in their own zone.

Rather get an LD but ok

Florida might consider, because they need an NHL ready defenseman, cheap. Addison fits the bill.

What if an RD - LD swap of like Gudas for Kulikov was added to this trade? I think that would help fulfill some needs for both teams

Not a bad little idea here. Addison is definitely more beloved by prospect models like Baders, but it’s just looking tough for him to get any meaningful minutes with us.

The one thing I’m hesitant on with Addison is that he may get some decent PP time this year just given how bad it was last season. My hunch is that they’re feeling the heat and will be more willing to try things like that.

And if that’s the case, he could produce and pump his stock. It’s a bit lofty, but if he got say ~40 games this year and put up 20-25 points, that’d be huge.

I wouldn't mind that, think it's a pretty fair swap too.
