Islanders don't want Myers and his $6,000,000 cap hit and Miller needing a new deal

The Isles are not moving Dobson, end of story.

The value seems about right, but a 3rd team would need to be involved to take on Myers contract and VAN will not be wanting Martin. But Miller and a 1st is a great return for Dobson, especially if an extension is agreed to before the trade happens.

You mean an over payment? Miller and Dobson is roughly 1 for 1. But the Isles don't want to move Dobson, and Vancouver isn't in the right prospect pool/draft capitol to move assets right now without it hurting the future even more.

Dobson is only moved if he is a part of a package returning Quinn Hughes or Elias Petterson. We are not trading a 22 year old RHD with 5 years of RFA team control left (likely gets signed to a long-term deal soon so that doesn’t matter) for a 29 year old winger on an expiring contract. As good as Miller was last year and has been for the Canucks, it makes absolutely zero sense for the Islanders to do this.
