Kraken decline, so does Anaheim, Arizona might accept that though

I agree, but I think both Seattle and Anaheim decline. It's just really unlikely the Leafs make the cap work... and thank god for that.

Seattle definitely does, but not too bad for Anaheim

What's the benefit to Anaheim for getting Toronto off the $5.625 million hook?

Muzzin doesn't fit Anaheim's rebuild timeline, we would have to eat his contract or flip him, which will be difficult given his trade protections, so as a player he has literally zero value to us. The only value Anaheim gets in taking on Kerfoot's contract is the futures that Toronto sends with him as payment.

He could be a stabilizing force on a young blue line and helps hit the floor

we still have Shattenkirk and Fowler for stabilization, and there are 30 other teams and free agency who can help us hit the floor, all of which we wouldn't have to give up picks for, That, and there are still big name free agents out there that contenders want to sign, there will be plenty of teams calling a very small list of teams trying to move cap.
