Mayfield is too old and is a pending UFA. If the Canucks are trading both Garland and Hoglander they need someone better and with control.

Take out Hoglander and the Canucks still decline. Mayfield is too old to be Hughes’ long time partner, and he is probably going to get a big raise in UFA. No thank you. Tbh, he is barely an upgrade over Luke Schenn. He has worse basic analytics than Schenn

Hogslander was terrible whenever I watched him last year. I’m not saying he doesn’t have talent, but his sophomore slump was brutal.

UFA 3rd pairing D
A B prospect
2nd pick in a good draft

Nope not a serious offer in the slightest.

Mayfield would be the Canucks best RHD and the Canucks aren’t high on Hoglander.

Rutherford would definitely consider this trade

126 games 25g 20a 45pts

Guess who is which? Are you high on the latter? No not considered in the slightest.

I’m actually high on both.

Reading comprehension is important- i said that Canucks aren’t high on Hoglander , especially the coach. That is a fact

Miller for Dobson makes no sense for the Isles. Canucks fans need to realize that’s not happening. The only players we could offer that would make the Isles consider moving him are Pettersson/Hughes. Anything else doesn’t make sense for them

Off topic it’s not about Dobson.

It’s all about comprehension….
An underachieving Wahlstrom is untouchable.
Hoglander with better ppg isn’t wanted.
Mayfield is a stud on the Canucks.

Summary: the oldest team in the league is in great shape & a new arena & fired Trotz. What’s to be worried about?

Wahlstorm hasn't underachieved, he was buried by a coach who hates young players. Trotz handling of Wahlstrom, Barzal, and Dobson is a big reason why he was fired.

Hoglander is a good player, Boudreau just doesn't like him and it was rumored he was being shopped.

Mayfield would be the Canucks best RHD and it isn't close.

The isles are in much better shape than the Canucks, most of their old players are in the bottom 6. The players that drive the isles success are all in their prime.
