He'll be a rental on the leafs cause they cant pay his next contract. and it doesn't matter if he will be the best defender on their team. his value is a first maybe a bit more.

Why would Habs sacrifice any assets, let alone a very good RD prospect, a 21-yr old C filled with untapped talent, and a Bedard lottery ticket for a guy they can sign for free (if he actually wants to play in MTL) 82 games from now, especially when they have no intention of being competitive this season??

Knies is more important to this teams future than litterally anyone else, Take Topi or even Sandin but Knies is 100% Untouchable will take over Buntings Role right after he walks
