It'd cost less in assets if you sent an offer sheet his way. Probably won't be making friends with Dubas, though.

That's a significant overpay from Seattle who are in no position to be giving up three 2nd round picks for a bottom 4 D man.

It’s really not though. Sandin is already a top 4 caliber D and it’s very likely he will become a top pair D in the next 3 years. Sandin is definitely worth this

Leafs take this & Dubas would 100% find a way to match that offer sheet & also I appreciate the confidence in Sandin but he will be signed soon enough

He's a LEFT SHOT 22 year old who played 51 games last season, averaging under 17 minutes and less than 1 shot per game. That top pairing projection is very generous.
It's also ridiculous to pretend that you can't see how three 2nd round picks means much more to Seattle right now than acquiring Sandin would.

What does it matter if he’s a left shot, he had great underlying numbers in those minutes, the leafs dominated when he was on the ice. He was above average at every aspect of the game. Seattle can afford to pay this price (which isn’t even a lot ) for a defenseman on a top pair trajectory

3 seconds is crazy for sandin. A single second would get it done at this point. Toronto has no room atm. Anything more is an overkill

LHD are easier to come by than RHD. So it absolutely makes a difference. And we'll just have to agree to disagree on the rest. Frankly I'd be shocked if you could get TWO 2nd round picks for Sandin right now. Any GM who gave you THREE would be out of job before the week was over.
