If the Canes want Miller they're gonna have to add Morrow

Probably not the prospect we would be after in the cap dump.

If it’s a 2023 1st instead of the 2nd the Canucks consider. Or if Morrow is added

What makes you say that? What do you think was going to be given for Tkachuk? It wasn’t going to be much more than this.

Canucks fans our new FO waited too long. Only saving grace will be if one of the teams working on Kadri doesn't get him and pushes for JT. Otherwise, teams know we can't re-sign him without dumping someone. I think this is good for JT (at this point) minus a bit of money going back like Dickinson.

Canucks don't want Bear, if you're getting Miller it's gonna be Necas and Pesce for Miller and a 2nd

The Canes won’t trade Necas alone for a 1yr of Miller much less add.

C’mon OP, it’s bad enough this needs to be explained to Canucks fans 10 times a day. It shouldn’t have to be explained to a Canes fan.

‘Kay.

Hint - there’s a reason he hasn’t been traded….the ask is exorbitant and unrealistic.

If you like to live in fantasy world though, I won’t fault you.

You’re comparing 2 different situations. Tkachuk is 5 years younger. Canes have little issue paying a 25-33 year old 9+ million. They have zero interest in paying a 30-37 year old 8+ million.
Moving Necas for 1 year of Miller doesn’t make sense
Im guessing Tkachuk was Necas, Turbo, and a 1st.

Very likely would have been more but it also would’ve been worth it since you’d be getting a player going into his prime versus a player likely exiting his prime very soon.

I’d imagine the trade for Tkachuk centered around turbo Necas and a first at minimum if it was as close as reported.
