Maybe, but it's better for them to loaded of NHL ready prospect and pick than lose both in FA market

Huberdeau will get a way better return than that. Every playoff team in the league will be calling for a 100 point player at under 3M

Jackets decline easily. He’s a bottom 6 center at this point. If we really want to take a stab at him. We have free agency next year.

He isn’t better than roslovic jenner or sillinger so I don’t see him as a viable option for us as a rental.

Huberdeau gets a bigger return than that. Also why not extend them, if they do it a huge win for chucky.

Vilardi might be a bust. Jury is still out on Akil Thomas. CGY pushes for someone like Turcotte, Kaliyev, Kupari Bjornfoot, etc.

Rental player. I don't think a team will gives way more than that. Contender teams can't resigned him to a deal at 9-10m. He will hit FA. So that's why 2 prospect and 1st is a good return for a rental player. I don't think a team will be ready to give similar prospect to Byfield or Vilardi for a rental player.

If CGY don't accept that, then at the end of the year the Tkachuk trade will be looking like that :

Vilardi's value is dropping year after year. He's no-longer waiver exempt and may not even make the starting roster. He is basically in the exact same boat as Valimaki. The above offer is barely better than what Chiarot or Copp got. If Huby is going to walk they will probably move him but I am confident it will be for better than this

We can't afford Monahan, even with retention.

Plus, you can't make assets in a trade contingent on signing extensions anymore.

Vilardi will definitely make the 23-man roster this year. He'll likely swap in and out of the lineup with Lemieux when toughness is/isn't needed. He actually looked really good for the Kings in his call-up at the end of last season. i expect him to have a breakout year this season.

I agree, and for that reason I don't think he'll be traded this summer. The Kings are more likely to move on from Turcotte than from Vilardi at this point.

Sounds like Calgary is going to try and extend both Wergar and Huby but if they were to try and move Huby I could see interest in Turcotte. Not that I think they would deal with LA though

I think that LA would package up Turcotte to look for a #1 LHD. The only thing from Calgary that they would be interested in would be Hanafin, and I'm not sure Calgary is prepared to move on from him at this point.
