The mere fact that you magically omitted the most valuable piece in the entire trade as if it wasn't coming to your team proves that discussing this with you is futile. Have a good one.

That was by design. I’m just saying 2/3 pieces ur sending have little to no value in this kind of deal. Kyrou for Barzal isn’t a trade the isles can afford to make anyway. My point was it’s not worth it to swap Bailey’s two year deal for Krug’s which is significantly longer. But it’s easier for you to make an excuse to bail on this thread rather than admit ur wrong. Hope there r no hard feelings.

Have a great day!

eh i mean it's not a great idea or anything but in a barzal trade you're looking to acquire a guy like kyrou to replace him. tarasenko as a rental doesn't add much unless they flip him (which they could) and they don't really have a place on the roster for krug at this point with romanov in the mix but to acquire kyrou it might be worth it. it's something to think about.

You can’t trade your top line center for a winger. Especially when you have to give up a second in the trade. Don’t act like you don’t know that.

The cap is going to go up and should be going up quite significantly soon. NHL had record revenues last year.

All I’m saying is there’s no reason for the isles to take that risk. Bailey has two years left on his deal and it’s better for them to clear that cap space instead of acquiring a small defenseman in his 30’s on a long term deal.

in reality, is it worse to deal your top line center (if we were theoretically trading him) for a winger that you already know is a stud or for draft picks or prospects that might pan out, might not? no one is giving up a guaranteed top line center prospect in a trade. there's merit to getting the guaranteed great player even if it's at a less valuable position as opposed to magic beans.

I don’t recall recommending the trade him for picks tho. I’m just saying it’s not worth it to trade him for Kyrou if they have to take on Krug’s contract. That’s my whole point.

Dude you legit threw me under a bus cause I said they shouldn’t trade their top line center in a deal where they have to take back Krug’s contract.

Fair enough. Mostly on these boards I hear Isles fans complain that they need to score more goals. Krug might be one of the best power play distributors out there. I get people don't like the contract but he's pretty f'n good. He is sort of redundant on the Blues though with also having Perunovich who I think they will actually trade instead some day. Again I wasn't really that serious about this post but have heard rumblings about Barzel possibly being available and just decided to post - didn't put a lot of thought into it.

No I agree with you. I’m more annoyed at the Bagel guy for trying to throw me under the bus lol.

bro i threw you under the bus because you're always starting lengthy fights with people on this site for no reason LMAO. i don't necessarily want krug either but kyrou's the type of player i'd want if they were trading him (i also like krug as a player more than you seem to, so i'm somewhat less concerned about the contract)

Btw I seriously doubt Lou adds another winger. He seems like he is begging on internal improvement for some reason lol. I think he must really like Lambert. I would also assume Lou his begging on Wally being extra motivated cause it’s a contract year.

So you wanted to go after me cause I don’t like taking on bad contracts? Or because I use this website to discuss fake trades because that’s the whole point?

My point isn’t as much about Krug as it is about freeing up cap space. Isles have to keep Sorokin happy and that means you need to make sure there is a talented roster in front of him. So now we need to give the nice goalie all the money he wants and we have to pay Barzal whatever he wants so Lou can sign the nice Russian tendy lol.

Would you trade Barzal for a 29 year old center who is a pending UFA? I’m not the only one who called them out on their Miller “trade rumors.” Lol

i wouldn't but there's no reason to be rude and generalize about canadian fans, all fans are annoying homers, not just canadians

I wasn’t the only one who said that either. Some dude legit called Canucks fans out for burning down their own city when they lost in the finals to Boston. All I said was Canucks fans were off brand Canadians fans. You know cause the two names mean the same thing lol
