Kane has a full NMC. Chicago will take whatever it can get from Kane's chosen destination.

Holloway isn't on the menu. Holland is building long-term and Kane is a one&done in Edmonton.

Doesn't matter... I guarantee Edmonton isn't at the top of his list. Chicago isn't trading him for garbage. This offer gets out beat by a lot of contending teams.

But Chicago isn't trading him for garbage in this case..... jp and a first is a pretty darn good haul for a player choosing his destination.

Chicago has no use/need for JP and the 1st is going to be late. Again Edmonton isn't going to be the only spot Kane chooses. Whether it's Col, NY, CAR, or etc, this offer gets out beat. Kane may choose where he wants to play, but management isn't going to cut the price for him.

Then management can try to do better elsewhere....

The oddsmakers currently have Edmonton at the top of the list. We'll see.

The oddsmakers also had Sergi Fedorov at the top of the list for Red Wings next coach.

And they had Colorado at the top of the list to win the Stanley Cup.

In any case, Kane may decide that he'll waive for only 1 or 2 teams. That will severely limit the return Chicago gets.
