Not official yet but wouldn't be surprised. Only 1 NHL player ever returned after his type of surgey, and they lasted like 35 games before retiring.

Hip resurfacing. Ryan Kesler has the same surgery and never came back. It sucks. Such a great player too.

yes for sure! Washtington is well over the cap right now if he is healthy. It looks like they are treating it as if Backstrom isn't coming back. Or one other player. Time will tell!

My guess is Fehervary takes that AAV on a 2 or 3 year bridge deal. Would love to bring Orlov back for that price, as well as Weegar. Even if Backstrom is completely done, I see them splitting up the Pastrnak money into 2 or 3 guys instead like maybe re-signing strome and also getting a Tarasenko level guy, unless McMichael takes a massive step this year.

I wouldn't be against that, especially because it means Strome went off like he can.

Yea I'm pretty optimistic about him this year, especially if he gets to play with Mantha and Wilson/Brown

If you're rolling into the playoffs with a 2nd line of Brown-Strome-Mantha then you're looking pretty good.
