That's the PLD trade deadline deal that most think they'll get.

Don’t really want to set up Nashville to have to pay someone to take cap next season. Can’t afford Dubois long term (if he’s even willing to stay in Nashville)

What's the reward to Anaheim for taking that super-massive $5.95 million cap hit off your hands? And for three seasons, no less?

Why would the Canes take Wheeler on, putting aside that they can’t exactly afford him? Lucius is interesting, and I could see him wanting to play with Cruz, but he won’t get a chance with the Canes with how overcrowded the C position is.

I can't see why he'd get significantly less than any other rental, or Copp for that matter, but okay.

It's more than what Copp got. The Copp pick was a conditional 2nd rounder that became a first because NYR made the ECF. The Fiala trade would be a better comparison, and it's more than what LAK gave Minnesota. Nobody is going to give a ton for PLD since it's pretty clear he wants to be in Montreal. I think NSH would rather keep the picks and see what they have in Glass anyway.

Dubois' minimum price as a rental is a 1st and a good prospect. Plus more for the retention. The first is there, but Glass doesn't qualify as a good prospect anymore and 3rd's and 4th's don't have much value.
