Necas isn’t available unless it’s for a player that helps the canes in their cup chase, like Tkachuk. Not trading him for futures. Bear is available but they’ll probably want about a 3rd.

Bear for a mid pick. Necas in a package for an upgrade. Unlikely he’d be moved for a pick or prospect or lesser players. They’ll just keep him.

Well where does he fit in the lineup? I don't disagree but also see no way they can sign either of these players with Jake coming off IR

Bear is likely moved unless they can do something with Gardiner (cap dump which seems less and less likely by the day or a buy out). They’ll have room to sign Necas if one of Bear or Gardiner is moved.

You think Necas is going to be making less than 4m?

I thought 2x4 initially but think it’s closer to 3.5 on a bridge now. Just the way the market has played out seems to be impacting contracts and he doesn’t have arb rights. If somebody comes in with a KK type OS than he can be had for a 1 and 3 I suppose but I’d imagine they trade him before it got to that. They were trying to build a package around him for MT last week reportedly.

You got any more of them Bjorkstrands to interest the Canes?

Yeah saw that also. I too think he's going bridge, because although he doesn't have arb rights, seeing KK sign for 8yrs at 4.82, there's no chance a long-term deal for marty isn't starting at that price point...

No, but we have a shiny Gus Nyquist.

That might've worked a week ago, but sadly, we parted with my beloved Oliver instead.

I’d lock him up 8x5 if he’d agree earlier but unless we can move both Gardiner and Bear that’s unlikely and I’m not sure he wants to commit long term either. Just thing a bridge makes most sense for both parties.
