They get a defenceman that can play top pair for them and get out of Poolmans contract. I take that all day

Take out Gritsyuk and Poolman to start. Can add a piece from NJD, but would be less than Grits.

I really can't see Myers bringing in a positive return. The teams that would benefit most from him don't have the cap space and the teams with enough cap view him as a cap dump.

Signing Klingberg is literally just the-setting thr Tyler Myers cycle. He’s gonna be considered deadweight in like 3 years

Big hulking RHD that play a physical game bring more value to this league than they should. Erik Gudbranson somehow got a 4x4 contract as a third pair d man

Nobody is taking Myers unless Couver adds substantial futures. Flat cap reality

Ok but Gudbranson is 2yrs younger and $4M isn't $6M especially since the cap will only be raised by $1M.

But Myers is significantly better than Gudbranson. Canucks had Gudbranson before. He was AWFUL. Neither player deserves those contracts. Do you honestly think Gudbranson is worth that contract?

No I don't think Gudbranson is worth $4M but Myers isn't worth $6M. You also have to consider that Columbus didn't have to give up any assets to get Gudbranson.

*I said 3yrs older in my last post but it's 2yrs older.

I don’t think anybody is going to give up anything other than another bad contract for Myers.

guddy was actually quite good this past year for calgary, of course not worth a 4 year commitment, but he played well in defensive minutes for them

My point is, big d men are clearly values in this league or else Gudbranson and Myers wouldn’t be paid that much

Devils should really not be looking to deal Gritsyuk rn.
Dude looks like an absolute gem and I cannot wait until his KHL contract is up.

Hopefully about 15 lbs heavier when he arrives, steps right into top-6.
