Duclair or Hyman Pt2 Hyman

Created by: hmcgs
Team: 2022-23 Pittsburgh Penguins
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 24, 2022
Published: Jul. 26, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Hyman slots as our 2LW to play with Malkin.

What would you make the D-pairs???
Trades
1.
PIT
  1. Hyman, Zach
Additional Details:
[EDM] Gain a top-4 shutdown LHD and a B level prospect along with a second round pick. Also gain roughly 1.4m in cap space to sign their RFA’s. Hyman is the odd man out as they have 7 “top-6” forwards (McDavid, Draisaitl, Nugent-Hopkins, Kane, Yamamoto, and Puljujarvi).

[PIT] Gain a solid and proven top-6 forward to play with Malkin and help make space on D. Lose a top-4 Dman, a “B” level prospect and a second round draft pick.
EDM
  1. Dumoulin, Brian
  2. Poulin, Samuel
  3. 2023 2nd round pick (PIT)
Additional Details:
Penguins: Losing Dumoulin is tough, but he will have to most interest from other teams rather than Pettersson. Pickering is our only “untouchable” prospect so losing Poulin wouldn’t be the end of the world. And as long as we keep our first round pick all other draft picks are available.
2.
PIT
  1. 2023 7th round pick (SEA)
SEA
  1. McGinn, Brock
Additional Details:
**ANY TEAM THAT NEEDS A GRITTY 4TH LINE ENERGY GUY**
3.
PIT
  1. 2023 2nd round pick (SEA)
  2. 2023 3rd round pick (SEA)
SEA
  1. Joseph, Pierre-Olivier
Additional Details:
**2ND OR 3RD**

**ANY TEAM THAT WILL TAKE HIM**

Penguins: GMRH acquired Smith so I assume the plan is to play him in the NHL so he can get his game back. I believe playing Smith in the AHL would be detrimental to not only his in-game skill but his confidence as well. Joseph becomes the odd man out therefore moving him for a draft pick would be a smart move.

Hyman won’t be the odd man out he isn’t even a trade option.

Hyman would be a great edition to any team, but he'll be in Edmonton a long time. Hyman put a lot of consideration into picking where he wanted to play and settle down with his family. He picked Edmonton and has a full NTC until 2026-2027. No chance that he waives that clause for anywhere, and the Oilers won't move him unless it's a crazy overpay. He's so valuable in the playoffs. Realistically even if Hyman didn't have the NTC it'd take a young elite goal scoring winger to pry him away from the oilers

I think duclair would be the one as I can’t see oilers moving Hyman, not unless they are 100% confident in Holloway which I can’t see at this moment

I watched every Oilers game this year, and the second most impressive single effort i can recall (McDavid skating through 4 NYR defenders was glorious) was Hyman on the PK. He stripped the puck and skated all over the ice with it for what seemed like an eternity. It completely demoralized their power play. His determination in his play is just off the charts, and he showed he can put the puck in the net too. I’m happy he has at least a 7 year stay in Edmonton and I bet leaf’s fans miss him already.

What MK548 said is true, he seems to be building his family with that very same determination, and chose the city of Edmonton as the place to do it. I just don’t see him waiving his NTC.

I like Jan rutta. I do not like the idea of him playing the minutes you’d need him too

No I’d rather have dumo there. Or at least keep POJ. Why would we get rid of two LD and leave only 2 on the roster?
