I don't think Hoglander for Murphy is enough for CHI to bite. Would need to add another pick... if you added the 23' 2nd I think this deal could get done.

This goes against everything the Canucks have said they’re trying to do. It makes us older and doesn’t free up cap space while making the team worse for the upcoming year

You mean like giving 4.75m to bottom 6 player in a cap crunch? I agree it doesn't go with their plan but I'm a bit confused so far. They haven't created any cap space.

I agree I would have liked to see them make some progress with the intended plan they had. I also agree mikheyev was a little overpaid but I’d consider him a middle 6 winger and I think once people see him play every night for the Canucks they’ll be a little happier with the signing

It's not necessarily the player but the $ attached to him. They are paying him to put up 50 points with that contract. If he does, consider me foolish but happy.

I’d have loved the money to be down around 4 but I’ll take it considering it’s not a contract that takes mikheyev into his late 30’s like all the other failures we’ve had

You've proposed a thinker. Here's the thing: the Blues have no need for DiPietro, they're loaded with nice goalie prospects already. What else ya got to sub in there for him? Jett Woo?
