Just a Thought

Created by: FXOC8118
Team: 2022-23 New York Islanders
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 26, 2022
Published: Jul. 26, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
This is not what i want to see in terms of #13 leaving but sites like these are for fictional creations to see if numbers etc work so do not post hateful comments etc. If Barzal is in fact tired of the systemic handcuffs than move him now and bring back two organizational blocks for years to come. Plus these contracts all terminate at intermittent times which would alleviate future cap problems and also create a nice window in the anticipated cap changes that will occur for 2025-26.

This team would score goals and easily be a top 8 team in the East in terms of making playoffs and a much faster version which is key in today's game eespecially on the back end transition

Ducks block Lous number and try to send him to a home after that offer 😂

Drysdale, McTavish and the 23 first are all untouchable

Not even in the ballpark

While I understand Barzal is a very good player who might be able to produce more in a different situation, the return from Anaheim just seems a bit high to me. Drysdale was a 6th overall pick and projects to be a top 4 Dman, McTavish was just taken 3rd overall and has thus far lived up to the hype around him, he has performed well at every level. Add in a 2023 1st that is likely a lottery pick in a draft being compared to 2015, and that is essentially 3 top 10 picks for a center who has been a 60 - 70 point player the past 4 seasons. He isn't an all situations center either, he gets mostly offensive zone starts, doesn't PK and isn't good on face-offs, but will likely want an Eichel type of deal on his next contract.

This would be a great way to never get a player to sign long term again. Asking Ryan Pulock who is starting a 8 year deal with a Full NTC to waive it before he has played a game under the new contract.

You need to think less lol. None of these deals r good for the islanders and the ducks aren’t going to trade a pick in the Connor Bedard draft when they r going to be in the lottery next year.

Idk why isles fans have decided they want to trade Barzal. This is what happens when half ur fan base didn’t give a **** about hockey until the bubble and know they think they know everything lol.

The Ducks, Habs and Blues pretty clearly pass here. Don't get why the Islanders would do the Habs one either.

The Blues are not taking Bailey unless the Iskes significantly add

Don't think Kadri signs for that, but that probably is his fair value.

The Blues are not in a position to take Bailey. That wouldn't just defeat the entire purpose of trading Tarasenko, it makes the problem worse.

Pulock is already better a player than Guhle's ceiling. And hes 27 so another 6+ years at the top. Signed quite cheaply
