Why?
I'd think you'd move Tavares first(NMC i know but he'll have atleast a 2-3 team list he'll consider im sure)
Matthews secound given he's got 1 season left after next year
Like Gaudreau he's never really hidden his intention to play closer to home eventually

Marner's the only one it makes sense to invest in unless TML wants to end up like CGY in 2 summers from now
If its me i move Matthews his value couldnt be any higher as such he'll land you a lot

Read any of his Hocey USA interviews
They always ask him about "The importance to him in regards to giving back to the program"
He's always maintained he intends to do more later but spends his summers giving back until he's closer to home full time

Gaudreau does the same thing
Difference between us is when i watch something i retain the information i hear
That said basically every interview with Hockey USA is like that and the answers are pretty standard

But its not rocket science
Canadians often want to come home
Americans often want to do the same
1 thing that's undisputed he made a stink to get that deal allowing him to walk as a UFA at 26 a year early for a reason
I cannot imagine a world where its to sign with TML or a Canadian team for that matter.

The Blues can’t afford that even with Parayko coming our way. Teams are so up against this cap that a Marner trade is nearly impossible

hes also said how much he loves toronto, he has said more to suggest hes staying rather than leaving. lmao you you dont retain anything, i get it as a habs fan you want nothing more than for matthews to leave but dont throw crap at the wall and hope it sticks, also i dont know how much more this needs to be said that calgary and toronto are nothing close to the same, the gaudreau comp is stupid

Unless you want a VGK situation
Gave away 2 productive players already for nothing actually paying to move almost a Point Per Game Player
They'll still have to dump 6-7 to skate a 23 man roster

Other GM's are seeing this
Its why TBL got out ahead of it and got atleast paid to lose a top LD with 2 cups and 3 finals in the past 3 years.
I think maybe few teams are in that position to grab Marner. That said i think atleast 1/3rd of the league would try to make it work

Yupp thats why he fought so hard to become a UFA early depite TML giving him everything he wanted still wouldnt sign more then 5 years to walk him into UFA status

I dont need you trying to drag an intelligent conversation into one about Prejudice and your viewpoint based on it.
You couldnt offer something of substance so like this post you just put your Ignorance on display lol

I'm done lowering myself to the Kids Table
You want to sit at the Adults table i'm always willing to talk

you said nothing of substance, you compared a completely different situation to this one, you are the ignorant one, also the arrogant one, matthews has never once said anything about leaving, prove it to me. actualy proof, not your attempt at thinking a message was cryptic. hes mentioned how much he loves the city of toronto several times, arrogance on full display.

If a Crazy person doesnt see Context
Does that mean the whole World is wrong or just Wrong from that POV ?

You're like my single uncle who's a hermit and a TML fan
Anything you say set him off and its all "no , no thats not right " then insults
When it happens in real life he plays dumb
We avoid him and cringe when he shows up uninvited

There's is nothing Cryptic there sadly to justify your paranoia but that's how you percieve it
I say what i mean and mean what i say . Even if others dont agree i dont cry or act out as im an adult and that's foolish.
I just respect their right to be ignorant outside of my space.
So like i said im done lowering myself
You want to talk step your game up
Or go back to your isolation

youre just babbling on about nothing, yoiuve still yet to show me actual proof of what matthews has said to suggest "Like Gaudreau he's never really hidden his intention to play closer to home eventually" youre just going on about nothing, you lowered yourself already, youre the one bringing this conversation down because youre just arrogant and ignorant. But, you're a habs fan, so i dont expect much less.

Negative. He took that deal because the Leafs preferred it to keep the AAV down. He stated publicly, pretty recently actually, that he would have accepted an 8 year deal, and it was discussed, and that the shorter term was better for the team, to which he agreed

There is grasping at straws and there is making up stories about the straws you were too lazy to grasp for. This is the latter

It's funny when people create their own narratives like this, and then try to justify them. "He fought so hard(!!!)..."...that he extended mid-season. Sounds like the team was amicable to the decision, or they would have held off until the offseason, no?

I just get a kick out of people that hate another team more than they actually like their own. As a non-Leafs, non-Habs fan, I just get a kick out of it.

Haha, what does this even mean?

Your hermit uncle is a Leafs fan, therefore Matthews walks in free agency? I really don't get what you're trying to accomplish here.
