Larkin is good but I don’t think he’s worth that.

I’d love to have either in Calgary, especially Bertuzzi

Bruins might consider that package for Larkin, but not Bertuzzi.

Boston doesn’t have one prospect of the caliber of Johnson or Mateychuk, let alone two

A late 20s pick, middle 6 roster player, and good (but not great/elite) prospect? I don't think that's a Larkin package, but I do think it's pretty fair for Bertuzzi (who would fit in really well with Boston's style of play).

This is not a conversation about the Bruins' prospect system. It's about the trade package for Bertuzzi. Bruins decline.

The last thing the Bruins need is another top 6 wing.

Or Columbus could just hold onto their top prospect and sign Larkin as a FA hoping that Werenski is a good selling point.

It’s a conversation about the trade packages. I’m comparing them in saying that Boston doesn’t have even close to what it would take to land Larkin.

For some reason I think Larkin is so overrated on here.

Hes great. He's a mid tier 1C, but 1 year of him isn't worth even Kent Johnson, nonetheless adding a decent high upside player AND the 12th overall pick this past draft

UFA is going to be insane next year. Now that Columbus is cemented as a destination (smirk), they could have their pick of Miller, Larkin, O’Reilly, Horvat, MacKinnon et al.

I think the Jackets would definitely be interested, but Johnson would become the top 6 replacement they badly need for Voracek since Larkin and Sillinger would be the top 6 centers for the foreseeable future. Could see them doing Roslovic, Mateychuk and their 2023 1st instead. That or Roslovic, Texier and their 2023 1st.

Way too much for a 2nd liner who has one year left on his deal.

Only if the trade happens next summer and the jackets made the playoffs so that pick is in the 15-20 range. Even then, I’m not sure about dealing Mateychuk and the other package probably isn’t enough.

Right, Boston shouldn't be trying to go all in before Bergeron calls it quits and Marchand and Hall are past their primes.

The trade wouldn't be an option next summer since he's a UFA then. It's either this summer or else he extends with Detroit or becomes a UFA.
