Johnny hockey says different. smile

Fair, but I don't think anybody actually expected him to go to market. Plus, he'd be in a different trade tier and command even more lol.

Wait you mean Larkin >> Johnny? Even in trade evaluation where centers hold more value. Gotta think a top offensive talent would hold more value.

Right, Boston shouldn't be trying to go all in before Bergeron calls it quits and Marchand and Hall are past their primes.

All in doesn't mean a big overpay for a 2nd liner.

The trade wouldn't be an option next summer since he's a UFA then. It's either this summer or else he extends with Detroit or becomes a UFA.

They could still do a sign and trade to get the 8th year of term, but the point is mute since they shouldn’t be making that trade at all regardless.

The 8 year deal would only be possible for the team who has a player at the TDL. At most a trade next summer of Larkin would yield a 3rd or 4th round pick for his exclusive negotiation rights.

Boston doesn’t have one prospect of the caliber of Johnson or Mateychuk, let alone two

why does boston need bertuzzi though? after this season we rebuild and if they keep hall and marchand, bertuzzi will be our LW3 no way im paying that price for a player we don't need.

Too Much for Bertuzzi. Bertuzzi Should get about or less than what Fiala got, or a similar Caliber player.
Also CBJ cant really afford Larkin now.

Ok I was gonna say. Larkin is good but he’s not that good.

BUT, imagine Johnny on Larkin's wing, with Laine on the other...

Gaudreau - Larkin - Laine
Voracek - Jenner - Roslovic
Texier - Sillinger - Nyquist

That's a pretty damn solid top 9.

they only have 3

debrusk played very well on the 1st line with marchy and bergy and im fine with leaving him their for the time being.

in my personal opinion anyways i wouldn't even give that up for bertuzzi, especially because lysell and that 1st could end being key factors to our rebuild we are about to head in.

Bertuzzi just delays that rebuild and makes us waste futures

With Roslovic as a part of the trade they would be able to figure it out with Larkin. They have about $2.5M in space at the moment and Larkin would be a $2.1M addition over Roslovic.

We could even see if the cap space could be fixed as part of the trade. Retention on Larkin (for 22-23 season), or an extra player from each side added to the trade to help.

It’s a conversation about the trade packages. I’m comparing them in saying that Boston doesn’t have even close to what it would take to land Larkin.

Either way, the proposal for Bertuzzi is an easy decline for Boston.

This is a big year for him to establish that Top 6 label.

The problem is Larkin and Bertuzzi are both UFAs and their return would be VERY UNDERWHELMING.
