Signing Huberdeau to a 5x11mil contract gives me Price situation. ehh im joking but hopefully he takes a bit of a paycut to play home for 4-5 years at around 9mil.

Interesting exercise, for sure. Congratulations. It's worth considering that the cap could climb another $500k or $1M next summer. However, if the recession really bites hard and the travel costs of teams, it's also possible we'll see a compliance buyout next summer, which would create some fascinating UFA possibilities.

It would cost much more for the Ducks to eat $32,500,000 for you over the next 5 years

Gallagher has one of the worst contracts in the league. Not a chance in hell Montreal moves that.

Conventional wisdom would suggest you are correct, but if Gallagher, as he says will happen given the long off-season to heal up, regains his form and scores on a 30+-goal pace again and does all the other great stuff he does, there might be teams willing to take his term in return for a shorter problem contract of their own.

Very wishful thinking. But let's hope.
And do t forget Gally's ntc...
      Such a bad contact.

No one likes being the old man in the room with the worst contract. I'm sure Gallagher would not stand in the way of a trade if he knew he was no longer considered integral to the team's plans. Also, it's only a 6-team NTC, so there's presumably 25 other possibilities to work with.
