I'd guess it is, Lou's getting old and maybe he's forgot it's usually best to ice 6 defensemen for a game

Thanks. Does he ever really break news like this? Also, I heard he likes to joke about Lou having stuff done but not announcing it. Any truth to that?

Kadri to the Isles after Lou trades two 2nd Rd picks to cash dump a player again. (we'll always remember the Ladd Era)

Why keep it a secret when Islanders trying to sell season tickets. Makes no sense to me.

No idea if it’s true but Dobson is due for a significant raise so I don’t see how it makes sense.

Also neither Nelson or Barzal are moving to wing so something has to give

He has broken news before but it tends to be only related to the Canucks tho. He does also tend to be very sarcastic which is why I'd have to hear the actual clip before saying anything

Isles are my second team (distant to the Avs but still second). And I agree. I hate the fit. Another 30+ forward, and one who may be the highest paid player on the team at that. Plus the positional conflict and the need to dump a lot of salary.

I like the fit for Colorado, even though there is tail risk. I hate it for the Isles from day one.

Because Lou likes to think he's in the Mafia during the off season. Must be a big Goodfellas fan

Seems like a perfect situation for sarcasm. Paraphrasing... "Oh the Isles are out on Miller because they signed Kadri but haven't announced it yet," ha ha, snort snort.

We'll see though. I wouldn't be shocked if it turned out to be true.

It makes 0 sense. I think Kadri is going to see such a big drop that it’s going to create some sort of tension. If he gets 7.5-8 mill (and puts up 40-45 pts) and Barzal puts up 70-80 pts next season, Barzal is going to want at least 10 mill.

I think Kadri is probably an Islander. He has a history with Lou when he was in Toronto. His last contract was given to him by Lou, but the fit DOESNT work in my opinion, and I don't think it would be for 7 years, probably 4 or 5.
I'd rather trade for Yamamoto or try to trade for Boldy tbh. Heck, maybe even go after Evan Rodrigues (or Juan Soto)

Good point on the Barzal contract. I do think Naz has a few good years left on him. He didn't benefit from an inflated shooting percentage or anything like that. His season was an outlier, but I doubt he drops to 50 points again (at least not in Colorado). There is more risk with a new team though.

Kadri reminds me of Loui ericksson. Ericksson had good underlying numbers and put up 30 G 63 pts in his final season with Boston. Then he fell off a cliff in Vancouver

I think kadri is going to fall off a cliff next season considering he quality of teammates is going to drop by a lot.

I'd be very nervous for a different team. In Colorado, where he gets to slide a bit under the radar, I think he is still successful for a few more years.

Definitely possible. Colorados D core makes it a lot easier for forwards to be successful. Also being on PP1 with 3 superstars doesn’t hurt

Really late but I heard the clip and it sounded very speculative. I wouldn’t read into it too much, but it’s definitely possible ig
