I think the trades are pretty solid (assuming Severson will extend). But even after trading Pearson the cap is very tight for next season if you plan on extending all of Miller, Horvat and Severson. If he's at all decent this year Kuzmenko would have to be let go.

If Pearson is traded and Miller extended, there will be room to keep Kuzmenko should he hit

I don't see how if all of Miller, Horvat and Severson re-sign. Let's say AAV's are;
Miller = 8.5
Horvat = 7
Severson = 6.5

That would leave league-minimum type money to fill out the remaining 4 or 5 of the 23 roster spots.

Severson isn't gonna cost 6.5 per season to extend, and Horvat will come in at under 7 million AAV. Miller isn't staying if he wants 8.5M AAV, regardless of term. Your market value projections are WAY too generous

I hope you're right. Rumor had that Miller wanted the Zibanejad deal, and I don't know that he's going to give VAN a discount. The other guys might get 6.5 and 6 instead, but I highly doubt they're much lower than that.

Players who don't take reasonably team friendly deals aren't staying with the Canucks long-term, simple as that. The reason Miller hasn't been dealt yet is case 1. The Kadri shoe hasn't dropped yet and will influence Miller's market significantly, 2. There is still a month to go left in the off-season, plenty of time left to work on an extension, and 3. Miller hasn't declared whether or not he wants to re-sign or test the free agent market next off-season, so that's another potential catalyst that has yet to drop if it ever does
