If your offer doesn’t include Holloway It’s not an offer worth considering

Bourgault is one of the best prospects in the league

I honestly don’t like either of them enough for Meier. New Jersey can offer Holtz and a first so that’s really the offer to beat and this doesn’t do it

Timo isn't going to be traded. He isn't even rumored to be on the move. Sharks considered moving him at the 2021 draft to move up and get Eklund but he fell to us anyway and that was before his monster year last season.

For fantasy sakes I think SJ would need to have Schaefer in the deal as he's a solid future replacement for Timo. Talent like Timo is not coming cheap.

You’d rather have one pick and one prospect instead of a first a second a top 30 or 25 prospect a second line winger in Yamamoto and a potential 2nd pairing LHD?

I would rather have a first line winger and a top 15 pick instead of a bunch of stuff yea.

you dont know your players very well then this is clear over payment from oiler which is the oilers dont do it.

a top 6 forward
a bottom 6 forward
a blue chip fwd prospect
a top 4 defensive prospect
a first and a second....

for a 70 point player ( who has only done that for 1 year...)

this is a gross over pay

Exactly you are throwing away a player who in 3 years could be a top line player for a single year rental. That is such a ridiculous trade. If the oilers were not so strong up front he would probably be playing NHL minutes this year.

Actually there’s no validity to Meier being moved last year, just that the sharks wanted to move up, not that they would trade him.

Ok,no problem we don’t want to trade him and would find better offers anyways.

If you don’t want him either then it should be clear we aren’t good partners!

no they arent good partners. and a real offer will never be this good.

You don’t get it dude. It’s all about quality, when we trade Meier it’s a rebuild so we don’t care about Yamato or Foegle as they are useless to a team that sucks and just eat our cap room.

We want a top 10 prospect and a high first, if you can’t offer that we won’t be trading Meier to you, no matter how much stuff you throw at the deal

You want to win the cup but you don’t want to throw away the future to do it especially when we don’t have to. Our offence isn’t what made it so we didn’t win the cup.

Alexander Holtz is not a top 10 prospect. He’s not even the Devils best prospect. He’s third behind Hughes and Nemec. Bourgault and Holtz are a coin flip as far as prospects go, both are easily top 50 and probably top 25. They aren’t top 10. Teams really don’t trade top 10 prospects.

Teams trade picks and prospects all the time to acquire talent to win now. How many first rounders has Pittsburgh drafted in a decade? I think it’s 3. Yes they’re about to pay for it but they got 3 cups out of their core.

Timo has a 64 point year and a 76 point year at only 25 playing on some pretty bad teams without the luxury of a McD or Drai on his line. last year wasn't a flash in the pan and he was proper dominant against some seriously good lines. He manhandled Colorado's top defense pair a few times, owned the Golden Knights and fully destroyed LA basically alone. Gross overpay? Timo is our best player. If you think that lowly of him then go after someone else.

I very much disagree but that’s my take. I just think this offer can be beaten easily by teams with a stronger prospect system than EDM.

Bourgault is not a top 25 prospect. He looks good playing in a terrible defensive league. The Q is 99% offense. Holtz already has pro experience against men in the AHL and SHL. Sorry but Bourgault is far from Holtz' level of quality.

Everyone thinks that because of the bb88 trade we’re going to tear it all down

Offer is not bad actually if Foegele is dropped out but agree its a quantity over quality trade
