May Habs move again

Team: 2022-23 Montreal Canadiens
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 26, 2022
Published: Jul. 26, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
If Price, Drouin and Byron all start on the LTIR Habs will have some space to make a move or sign players.

Sign Subban for 1 yr and tell Gally that at 6.5M/yr he can swallow his pride, shut up and play or ask his agent to find a team who would take his contract without any retention and provide a proven NHLer plus a prospect or 1st round pick…. Else, stay on your side of the locker room and play nice! They both matured, and need to show it.

Trades
1.
MTL
  1. Lehner, Robin
  2. Roy, Nicolas [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
Seeing how Vegas just give their players away I figure Habs can take the Cap off their hands, and ask for Roy while providing them with a Goalie at half his price, give them a first pick (2024… not 2023) to compensate for Roy. At least they get something back…
VGK
  1. Allen, Jake ($1,250,000 retained)
  2. Harris, Jordan
  3. Ylönen, Jesse
  4. 2023 2nd round pick (MTL)
  5. 2024 1st round pick (MTL)
2.
CGY
  1. Dvorak, Christian
Additional Details:
Calgary have Weegar, they need a center. This provides them that, and Zadorov is not as strong as Weegar.

If Kadri was interested he’d have signed by now. Why would he sign if he isn’t sure of the future with two players that may move on next year? He’ll want the best deal with a chance to go for the cup again. Maybe also get some golf after a practice. Oh and Calgary has a bit over 9M$ to spend with 2 RFAs… Kadri will cost more than 7 to 8M$ per year.

Well he hasn't signed with anyone yet, plus cap dump trades exist. Very easy to have kadri in

On that note, Dvorak hasn’t been traded yet and this dumps cap on Calgary…

Yeah I'll give all of that for a goalie that'll crumble under Montreal's pressure in year one and then go on Twitter.

MTL doesn’t want Subban and they don’t want Lehner’s twitter antics either. He would go on LTIR within a month on being in Montreal’s pressure cooker. The Habs arent trying to content for another year or two, this trade doesn’t make sense for them unfortunately and value for both trade isn’t there. Dvorak is worth more than Zadorov

Guess you missed the Roy addition to that trade? So you don't give all that for a goalie.

Subban has matured, still a bit flamboyant, but still more mature. He's put up ok numbers with NJ and like I said, at the price Gally is paid, he needs to line up to the team since his pay day was for the past years and he's not putting up his old numbers after being thrown around for so many years. That was a bad Bergevin contract all around. If Gally can't play nice and put aside the differences then he needs to ask his agent to find a team who'll take him for the salary without retention.

At some point these guys need to be adults and play by the rules. Subban is a RD with offensive potential and the HABS need that. A one year contract to prove his worth and show the others that he grew is a potential low risk. Worse that can happen... he'll play bad and we'll tank again.

I don't agree with your Dvorak statement. If the Roy trade could happen, then you need space, and a spot for him. Move Dvorak for a Dman which would be needed. Zadorov is a potential player since Calgary got Weegar and would need to move some cap space to sign him next year plus sign their current 2 RFAs and they have plenty at the blue line.

Considering Lehner's mental health he isn't a positive in this trade so if you remove both goaltenders you're trading Roy for a 1st, 2nd and two B+ prospects? I feel scammed.
