Canes are gonna get worked by the rags in 5 cause they actually pay their players and Fox is gonna leave a Cleveland steamer in PNC arena

Lol by deciding to not lock ourselves to awful contracts like Hamilton and Trocheck?

I think we ended up just fine letting those guys go and Nedeljkovic

All joking aside - you don’t think either of those contracts will age poorly in 2-3 years?

I think Trocheck has at least 4-5 more good years left, and I know Hamilton had a down year last year, but I fully expect him to bounce back...hopefully

Tro just plays a fairly gritty and physical game and has had some serious injuries. I really like him but he seems like a prime candidate to age poorly which is why I was shocke at 7 years.

I think Dougie bounces back and his style of play shouldn’t be too affected by age but historically the odds are against him.

Time will tell on both tho

Well Hamilton wasn’t going to get 9M from Carolina that’s for sure, and Trocheck’s AAV isn’t bad but 7 years wasn’t gonna happen.

They know when it’s time to move on from someone

I was as surprised as you are when the Rangers gave Trocheck 7 years. Like, did Copp not want to re-sign with the Rags at the number Detroit gave him? I'm fairly optimistic that Hamilton's game will age fairly well. At worst, I can see the deal ageing will until at least year 5 of the deal

I think copp is from Michigan but I thought both sides were interested in an extension too

Oh yeah, Canes were smart to let Trocheck go over a 7 year term at 5+ million. Still not sure how I feel with KK/Necas as the 2C at this hour, but there is hope yet. Wonder how many other team's were willing to give Hamilton 9 million

Yeah, and a terrible power play. Which they improved by bringing in Pacioretty who’s one of the best scorers in the league

Taresenko? Well, he wasn't producing at the rate you'd expect. Patches was still scoring, but he missed a lot of time. My only concern with him is simply availability

After only playing in 35 games the previous two seasons due to injuries he came back last year and was over a PPG player and scored 35 goals. Production was similar to his pre injury seasons and remained healthy. That’s why I referenced him as a comp to patches.

Ppl didn’t think he could stay healthy or would lose a step after the injuries. Turned out well for him and the blues. We’ll see how patches does.
