jackets aren't trading Gavrikov. Extending him is most likely next on their priority list

I've seen a LOT of bad Miller trades, this one takes the cake, that is absolutely ridiculous, no chance in hell VAN takes that.

Canucks aren't dealing Miller to CBJ unless they're getting Johnson, Sillinger, Jiricek, Meteychuk or an unprotected 2023 1st. Cuelemans is a nice piece but there has to be a hell of a lot more than Garvikov sent along with him.

Gavrikov IS a really nice piece even if he's only got a year left under contract

What makes you say that? I can't say I've ever seen him play but his advanced stats are horrible. Terrible defensive numbers and scored 12 points. Not to mention is left handed.

It is getting crazy how low the valuation seems to be getting. Drance and Lalji were talking about trading Miller for a 2nd round pick!

You misspelled Elias Pettersson. I’m assuming that’s who you wanted to trade to CBJ?

Gavrikov has great advanced stats I would think. Every Blue Jackets fan raves about him

I do not believe you've ever looked at his advanced stats or even regular stats considering how far off you are on them. You've also admitted you've never seen him play. Why are you even commenting on the guy?

I think he also had over 30 points last year. Don’t know where the 12 number came from.

Forgive me but I believe your talking about a different player. Gavy had 30+ points last year and has great metrics. At 26 easily our best defender outside of werenski.

This package posted is probably equal to Severson, Muhkamadulin, and a 1st from New Jersey. In fact, I would say this package is better since Gavrikov is a better player.

Gavrikov seems to be the so unbelievably underrated on this site and I have no idea why. Legit Two-way top pairing guy. Big, mobile, and very smart with and away from the pick

And this is why the answer to every Miller-to-Jackets proposal is inevitably going to be "no". He's not worth that to us. He never will be worth that to us. Find some other sucker.

what is this obsession with JT Miller to the Jackets,

Jackets need a 1C and have assets to trade. Miller is a 1C not long for Vancouver. Most Jackets fans are against the trade because he hasn’t been allowed to negotiate an ext with any teams, so why chance it when they could wait and negotiate with him as a UFA next summer.

It's all Satiar Shah's fault. He started spreading rumours about JT Miller trades and teams that could be interested and disingenuously started calling Miller a "hometown guy" for Columbus since he was born in Ohio. Nevermind that he was born on the eastern border of Ohio and grew up playing hockey in Pittsburgh and for half his childhood the Blue Jackets didn't even exist. It also doesn't help that the Jackets have great center and RD prospects that a lot of Canucks fans are salivating over and think they can somehow talk their way into getting Johnson, Sillinger, Ceulemans and a 2023 unprotected 1st as a return from Columbus because they should be desperate to win right now.

It's also that the cap space in Columbus has completely disappeared after Gaudreau and the reality of what it cost to get back under the cap basically means the price for Miller doubles if they want to re-sign him and their other key UFA/RFA players next summer. I was happy to speculate on a JT Miller trade 3 weeks ago, but it's just totally unrealistic now.

That's what I thought , the term 1C is relative in this case , it's almost as if everyone everyonne forgot Sillinger existed, Roslovic came into his own at the 2nd half of the season, Johnson can play center as well.
For now the 1C is actually Voracek, is playmaking on the wing makes him the default center on that line , he elevated Roslovic's,Laine's and Jenner's game when they played with him.

Jackets need a 1C in two years, when Jiricek/Mateychuk/Ceulemans/Johnson are ready to contribute closer to the top of a lineup. Not now, when they'd be lucky to sniff the playoffs. And there will be better, younger (and possibly cheaper) options than Miller in the years to come.

True, I was looking at Dom's model on the athletic from midseason. His metrics there suggest he is worth about 1.8 mil in salary. I guess last yr he kind of popped? Was he fairly poor before that?

Just looked at Dom's model on the athletic. It's what I use when I haven't watched a player. It's pretty reliable.

Dom's model is not too thrilled with him. Though Jfresh seems to like him quite a bit. That said he is LD and of almost no use to us.
