Not a bad idea and deadline deals

Created by: SimonSelaars3
Team: 2022-23 Minnesota Wild
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 27, 2022
Published: Jul. 27, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I think everyone expects Minnesota to regress over the next couple years before taking off once their top prospect pool comes to fruition and they’re released from cap jail.

Obviously this is a business of trying to win now to bring in ticket and merch sales but that’s just not realistic for Minnesota right now, so Guerin should try to set this team up as best as possible for the 24-25 season when this team projects to turn things around.

That starts by trading Dumba at the deadline and acquiring Timo Meier to pair with his buddy Marco Rossi.

Meier fits this teams timeline perfectly, he and Kaprizov would be the offensive leaders with a group of young studs set to enter the league when they’re both 27-28 years old.

Kaprizov
Rossi
Boldy
Meier
Yurov
Ohgren
Khusnutdinov
Ek
Brodin
Lambos
Faber
Addison
Wallstedt

That’d be a real solid core to roll with once they’re all ready
Trades
1.
MIN
  1. 2023 1st round pick (TOR)
TOR
  1. Dumba, Matt
Additional Details:
Idk where but some team will overpay with a 2023 1st at the deadline I can almost guarantee it
2.
MIN
  1. Meier, Timo
Additional Details:
I know he’s gotta be paid at the end of the season but if we’re not going to be competitive in the 23-24 season then it doesn’t really matter, you get Rossi the one winger in the entire league that he would probably pick to play with and then look to compete for the cup once the 24-25 season rolls around.
SJS
  1. Beckman, Adam
  2. Peart, Jack [Reserve List]
  3. 2023 1st round pick (TOR)

Timo isn’t going to be traded. Sorry to burst your bubble. There’s no indication anywhere about a timo trade and Grier has spoken with him already and he’s on board with the changes. Sorry guys.

Regardless, this deal isn’t close. The conversation starts with Yurov Khusnutdinov and a 1st.

Things change very fast in this league, I have a hard time believing that Timo is gonna sit around for the next 5 years while the Sharks figure out what they’re trying to do.

I think San Jose asks for better prospects honestly. These guys arent bad by any means, just not top guys. Beckman was okay in ahl, Peart has a ceiling of 2nd pair.

Yes I’m sure you know more than Mike Grier. You are a genius.

Grow up.
