Lot to give up for Spurgeon, good player. I have to think Tage and Cozens took the next steps and had good years those are some nice raises.

Tage would only have to repeat his play from last season to get that contract, though Cozens would definitely need to step up a lot.

I'm also giving term to cozens, so a bit of a projection there, but if he goes from 38 to say 53 points and hits 20 goals?

That’s horrible value for a legit #1 defensemen who is a metrics darling and plays a game that will age quite well.

Do teams usually play their #1 defensemen the 3rd most minutes?

If Tage did it again most definitely, I would be trying to get him locked up now before he explodes this year. See Adams get ahead of the game and maybe get a lower Avv

Minnesota declines..so does Jared spurgeon. Minnesota wouldn't trade their captain and make their defense worse. Spurgeon has zero interest, reason to waive

I mean Guerin gave him 7 years total NMC and highest avv in recent wild history for a reason.. wild aren't trying to trade their captain and top pairing d. And you will have to convince spurgeon to waive, he wouldn't

He gave it to him 3-4 years ago and things change

Spurgeon will never waive. Not with his Minnesota wife and kids . Guerin will not ask him. So with all due respect, you are wrong. Spurgeon lives in Minnesota.

I agree Spurgeon will never waive and BG will never ask him too, not after he gave him the Captaincy and a huge contract. FYI Spurgeon's wife is from Edmonton they were high school sweethearts, I think a couple of his kids were born in Minnesota though.
Wildnochance liked this.

At the moment that is big overpayment for cozens.

Tage nets 30 again this year, he is pulling at least 8
