Hard pass from Detroit. No place, or use for him.

You’re probably looking at a second to dump ~5m in cap in this environment, given that we know the ask from philly for TVR and his 7m is a 1st

Granted Nemeth is awful, but the fact he cost TWO seconds to dump for half the price, FLA has to be looking at giving up far something that hurts to dump him. Likely the 2023 2nd and a 2025 3rd.

Probably a first which means he won’t be dealt until the deadline

FLA doesn't have a 1st until 2026, I'm not even sure they can trade that, as their 2025 pick is already conditonal.

Exactly they need to hope other teams gain LTIR cap space credits or more cap opens up by the deadline or he’s untradable unless they are willing to move prospects too

Florida has:
1. a bigger need to clear cap than Columbus did
2. a worse asset to try to offload (Nyquist > Hornqvist)

The price to move Nyquist was so big (likely a prospect + a 1st) that Columbus decided the better alternative was to move a legit top line player (Bjorkstrand) for spare picks. And now there's one less team out there that will take on salary.

In other words… Florida's either gonna have to trade Reinhart for next to nothing, or they'll have to package a bunch of good pieces along with Hornqvist for future considerations.

I think the ask for Nyquist was probably a second and Hornqvist will be the sameish. TVR rumoured a first at 7m.

And folks need to stop trying to dump salaries on Detroit as they have no room or apparently the interest to take on pure cap dumps.
