Florida has:
1. a bigger need to clear cap than Columbus did
2. a worse asset to try to offload (Nyquist > Hornqvist)
The price to move Nyquist was so big (likely a prospect + a 1st) that Columbus decided the better alternative was to move a legit top line player (Bjorkstrand) for spare picks. And now there's one less team out there that will take on salary.
In other words… Florida's either gonna have to trade Reinhart for next to nothing, or they'll have to package a bunch of good pieces along with Hornqvist for future considerations.
