He’d be a great addition but we need them to retain 50% and take Holl back the other way. That’ll cost us

He has a 10 team no trade list to start, but assuming he doesn't want to stay in Chicago(Why would he?) I would love Rasmus Sandin...

Hed be a horrible fit with the leafs, skates like his pants are full of bricks and cant move thr puck. Would be awful, especially with rielly.
Not to mention that contract is pretty bad

Would you give up Sandin for the hawks to retain 50% and take Holl?

Wouldn’t be my first choice of a player to give up. I’d rather send Holl and our 1st this year

His opinions are worth less than used TP. Demelo would also be a good fit

I would hope the hawks are happy with either of these offers.

Jared has no clue what he is talking about. TOR needs defensive defensemen, and more specifically are lacking on the right side. If they want to make it out of the first round any time soon, they should be looking to acquire a player like Murphy. His contract is NOT bad, in fact most experts agree that is contract is very favorable for what he provides. He does NOT skate like his pants are full of bricks. CHI isn't interested in Sandin, though. Our logjam at LHD got even worse since the end of the season. Picks and prospects are what CHI is interested in right now. We have two RHD's ready for a full time shot at the NHL but not enough RHD's to replace them in Rockford. So that'd be a good position to start with. Using comparable trades from recent years, you're probably looking at a decent prospect + late 2nd/early 3rd for Murphy. If you need to dump salary, that will cost extra, but we ARE NOT retaining anything on 4 years of Murphy. If we did, it would be less than $1M, maybe $750k at the most, and again, that would cost extra.

I'd rather have demelo because he'd cost like a 3rd. Severson would be ok, but is more expensive and the leafs need to use any trade capital to get a 2lw or 2c instead of any defender

That’s almost 9 million in retention which is worth a first, third, and good prospect minimum. Then you have to account for dumping holl who has negative value. Then you have to account for the player which will cost even more.

You’re looking at like 2 firsts, holl, another prospect and sandin

No retention is probably a first, holl, and an A- prospect

Bro term costs more than a 3rd sorry to say it, Also 2LW yes, 2C JT is still an almost PPG guy ffs

Bro this narrative that Holl has negative value is complete BS, leading shot blocked, good PKer, 6’4 & can give you 18+ minutes a night in a shutdown role, making less than 2.1 mil , similar guys for 4x4 deals so stop the cap

Demelo cost a 3rd at the deadline two years ago with rfa control. Now he's older and worse. He's worth a 3rd max

I think everyone wins here. TML get a really good RD, defensive dman with a physical edge on a great deal. They shed Holl who fills a void for Chicago, they get a young dman and a pick.

They might have to upgrade the pick seeing that there are a few years of retention but I think something in that ball park would work.

Might get a late round pick for him at best in this market. Very few teams that can afford to take on cap without sending any out

These prices get more and more ridiculous every day.

Good thing the real world isn't like this.
