Description

If strome and brown work out, resign them to form a longer term, younger 1st/2nd line. Weegar is the only big name free agent who appeals - most of the rest are old or unlikely to become free agents (e.g. MacKinnon, Larkin, Pastrnak). Not thrilled to see Orlov go (he's our best defenseman right now) but just don't see how a contract works without being a huge overpay for a guy into his 30s. Extra couple million maybe for some depth forwards. This assumes Backstrom will have retired, but obviously we're in a world of hurt if he doesn't.

I would be very surprised if Pastrnak re-signs to BOS. They are going nowhere. They'll lose Bergeron, Krejci next season, Marchand will be a year older, and the only good player after that is McAvoy. I can very much see him walking.
