Initial Creation Date: Jul. 27, 2022

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Play the Toews and Wheeler line like 10-12 minutes a game. Gotta keep the dinos rested for the playoffs. No more 20 mins a night, all situations Wheeler.

Ken Wiebe says he's heard some rumblings about the Jets maybe having some interest in Crouse and Toews basically asked for a trade yesterday so that's my context for this team. oh and Heinola is probably begging for a trade from WPG bc we never play him.

I don't expect the return for Crouse to be significant as he's been pretty not good up until this season when he scored 20 goals, meaning he's entitled to a raise that he might not have earned. Similar situation to Pulujarvi and it seems like GMs have no interest in him.

Wheeler could still get moved but it feels less likely every day. We'll have to pay out the *** to get someone to take on his contract and at the end of the day he's still a productive player, even if he's past his prime. In a smaller role he should make a good 3rd line scoring winger + power play specialist.

Mix in a new, defense-orientated coach (one that was happy to demote Seguin/Benn to elevate young guys like Hintz and Roberson) and this team makes the playoffs, IMO. If Hellebuyck gets hot, these Jets could be a problem

It's possible for sure that's about what Toews will return, that or a late 1st, but i'm guessing he would only waive going to a team that will compete for the cup. If the Jets are in that position as the TDL approaches then this is probably very realistic.

I feel like the big difference between pool party and Crouse is that Crouse put up 20 goals on a bad Arizona team, while Pool party spent 95+% of his even strength time with at least one of McDavid/Draisaital and couldn’t crack 40 points.

Jets shouldn't do the ARI trade. iF they wanted to deal both those guys, they could get more in separate deals. Or it's just a one for one
Dealing Dillion would be to create room for Heinola and Samberg
I would love to see JT centering the 3rd line and I think a 2nd is the most anyone should give up for him, even with retention

I agree with this outside of paying out the ***. I think there are a lot of contenders that would love to add him, but just not at that salary. CUt it in half (hopefully by routing him through a team that needs to get to the cap floor).

Jets need right handed RW and RD, they go after an LHW and get Toews for 3C….sounds very Chevy like
Not wasting assets on LW until we address the areas we need to address first.
Only interested in Toews as a 2C filler if we move that idiot Scheifele first.
Jets are going nowhere but down as long as they keep Wheeler, Scheifele, and Chevy

I think Crowse would be a decent top 9 addition but not at the cost of Heinola. I would trade Dillon with a few picks or maybe a B/C level prospect which probably isn’t enough for Arizona to want to get rid of him.

Rumor is that the Jets don't want to retain salary on Wheeler lol. Otherwise, I'd agree. Retain like 30% to 50% and send him to Florida or something
