Vancouver shouldn’t make that trade even without the pick. I might be higher on Podkolzin than most but I wouldn’t deal him for Severson in a one for one swap. He’s gonna be a damn good player.

Habs rather keep Anderson. GM Hughes said he's getting calls on him and it will have to be a big offer to get him outta Montreal

Are there GMs that publicly state 'we have have no calls on him, someone please help'?

On a different note, I like the Montreal clears cap and adds 2.4 mil onto their cap.

Canucks aren’t trading Podkolzin. Miller for Severson+ or Garland for Severson could happen, not Podkolzin for Severson

Canucks don’t do quickly. Wouldn’t give you Podkolzin for one year of Severson. Even if he had an extension, still wouldn’t do it

Really brutal for vancouver. They don’t even really clear cap since severson will probably cost as much as Myers in his next deal. So opening up 1.8 million in cap space 2 weeks into free agency for one season does nothing for them and certainly is not worth a 2nd round pick let alone literally their best piece 21 or under

Devils shouldn't go anywhere near Josh Andersson, one of the most overrated players in the league.
Certainly one level below both AJ and Tatar.
Terrible mistake.

Devils should take that Canucks deal however.

These are bad for Montreal and Vancouver.

Tatar has been benched by two teams on cup runs, he's not going to get a return as a rental. Johnsson doesn't have a ton of value either. Montreal also can't afford the extra cap hit next season. They also like Anderson and aren't looking to move him. There's just no real reason for Montreal to make this trade.

I think Myers is going to have more value than people think. I doubt Vancouver pays close to that high a price for Severson.

Not phrased that way, but sure. There's also no reason Montreal's GM or top insiders would mention it if it wasn't true.

Not sure but Hughes has been somewhat forthcoming with his intentions since his hiring. I will believe him til he is proven to be lying

I find it hard to believe Anderson has value after the Bjorkstrand deal tbh. Either everyone is waiting for offers that won’t come or everyone knows that a lot of long term contracts don’t have any value rn.

I agree 100%. From what it looks like they will keep Anderson unless the offer is worthwhile.

I don’t doubt it. But given his production compared to his contract it’s possible he can’t be moved.

3rd parties like lebrun also confirmed this. Anderspn is coveted by a lot of gms.

Meanwhile Dylan Strome wasn’t good enough to get a qualifying offer lol.

When did he announce he decided to pick Slafkovsky? Weeks before the draft? I didn't follow the 1st 2 rds the night of the draft.

I'm very curious about what Pod ends up being. You could talk to 10 people and get 10 different answers. If you believe the hype then yell heah.

Personally I don't know given their situation how VAN says no to that trade however. They have FAR too many wingers as is and duping a bad contract, and improving their defense is everything they need. They're in a tough spot

MTL is still rebuilding and while they are getting some good young core players, they still have far far too many older expensive players that they will have no use for. As I said above I don't doubt that they could move him and that some teams are interested, given that we just saw 2 much MUCH better wingers be moved out for free, I'm not really sure what the other offers realistically are here.

I wonder how many times all Devils fan have to say we want nothing to do with Anderson for people to finally stop throwing him in trades with us...

Long term cap, the only thing that matters is getting all the money off the books after this year. They aren't contending and cap space this year isn't an issue for them.

I really like Pod and I don’t like Severson that much. He reminds me of of the 2016-2017 Hamonic. The guy Calgary made a huge mistake in trading for.
