Chicago gets no picks and no prospect for trading half priced Kane and Toews.....seems unlikely.

CHI is better off getting futures for them. Nylander is 26 and only has 2 years left - CHI just shipped out DeBrincat and Dach who are younger for picks so they are looking at a long term rebuild here

Aim higher than Toews. You can't have that guy eating up $5.25M of your cap.

Look on the bright side...the value offered wouldn't be enough to get Kane alone so you dont gotta worry about Toews

Yeah the one dimension being creating offense. He's an elite passer. He has elite hands. He has an elite shot. Even at 34 he is still a great skater.

of course he is but hes non existent in the dzone or backchecking, how much better does toronto actually get by replacing kerfoot and nylander with kane? if it was something dramatic then i agree with you but it doesnt make them THAT much better

I actually agree with you that Toronto has no need for him. However he is not overrated. He would be the most offensively gifted player on 90% of the teams in the league if they traded for him.

With the best hands in the league today, one of...if not the...best setup guy in the league and a hockey IQ that rivals the best players. I guess Marner and Johnny G are bad too and yet they haven't rose to the levels of Kane yet (or may never)

as of right now marner and gaudreau are probably better, they wont get 3 cups and a hart like kane most likely but TODAY they are the better players id say, they are better defensively, and marner also kills penalties really well. legacy wise there is no argument

If the hawks needed a PKer when they where on their runs Kane coulda done it, but they had the luxury of great pk depth forward (Kruger, Frolik, Madden, Etc) and other great star pkers(Toews, Saad, Hossa, and Sharp)

IDK about Marner to be honest. Put Kane in Marner's place last year, I bet Kane is better next to Matthews.

Johnny G I agree with in some aspects but Kane still has better hands then either.

kane might put up better numbers, but marner is very good defensively and a great pker, at this point in their careers marner just brings more

But Marner can't drive offense like Kane, I'd say it's wash. Imagine Matthews on a line with Kane....he'd crush scoring records easily

i dont doubt it, but i feel the gap between their defensove play and the other stuff marner does well is bugger than the gap between their offense driving

Possible. I guess it's easy to get enamored with Kane because he's a much flashier player...at least more fun to watch, but I agree Marner does better in the D zone for sure.
