I would rather have 8 years of KK instead of one year of toews. The only player on the hawks I would be comfortable trading KK for is… honestly no one piece I would trade KK for straight up on the hawks. Seth jones is on an awful contract and the only players of actual value have already been traded or have one year left on their deal. And the audacity to add 2 prospects to that deal. Please stop.

Sharks decline, LD is not a need and Hill is worth a 3rd/4th which has more value than Phillips

A better trade is Kane to the Islanders for Barzal, Dobson and a 1st round pick.

Toews is more likely to return to Canada IMO

Phillips has got good rapport in the organisation and I doubt they move him to accomodate another goalie which isn't needed.

Kane to NYR I feel works for all involved though would come down to how things are looking at the TDL and what overall package the NYR can put together.

Lol no Hill isn’t. 2.66 gaa and .906 sv% isn’t ahl level. Lankinen has ahl numbers.

NYR decline, we can pursue him in free agency, given the fact that he is not going back to your poor excuse of a team.

KK holds more value than Toews right now. You might get a 2nd if you retain half of his deal and eat Gardiner too.

KK is signed for 8 years and is 22 while Toews is on the wrong side of 30 and a pending UFA

Getting Kane as a UFA will cost you $8-9.5M and you won’t have him for the 22/23 playoff run at 50% off.

Honestly I wasn't too sure how canes fans felt about KK. Seemed like there wasn't a perfect fit for him last year and plenty of great forward prospects on entry level to replace with a need for cap space. Maybe Toews doesn't work because of cap problem and Necas is RFA with not enough current cap space to sign him. Figured after losing Trocheck and adding guys like Burns, Pacioretty they'd be interested in Toews. Potentially resigns as well. Toews is 34 but he is still playing good hockey but agreed I sent too much back. I was thinking KK's contract was kinda a problem but I now believe with expiring contracts they will be able to work it out.

My thought process was Sharks do not need 3 NHL contract goalies. Also only 4 AHL Defensemen under contract right now. Phillips is 20 years old and seemed like a good prospect to send back. While if Mrazek gets hurt, Blackhawks are screwed. Which I'm not sure if they'd mind for 1st round draft position lol.

As a canes fan I am super high on KK. He honestly wasn’t given a good shot this past season. He played primarily on the 4th line with guys who didn’t put up more than 25 points. He did play on the wing at the start of the season but he played poorly when on the wing even though it was with better players. His natural position is center and it’s what he has been groomed since Junior to play. If he swapped positions with trocheck in terms of minutes and linemates, I think he would have preformed much much better than trocheck did. His shooting percentage was higher than trochecks and his points per minute was higher than trochecks. On top of the fact he played with worse linemates, I have super high hopes for KK. I wouldn’t be surprised if he put up 70+ points this season but my expectation is at least 55 points if he plays 82 games. Very exciting player and I know a lot of people were confused with the contract but I think he will live up to it this season and continue to improve throughout the contract making it one of the best in the coming years.

correct, we don’t need 3 goalies, but we also don’t need LD. After we sign Ferraro, we will have 6 NHL level LD. Some are old and some have short term contracts, but guys like Ferraro and Kniazev are young and most likely part of San Jose’s long term plans. Hatakka and Knyzhov are both young guys in the AHL who also have decent potential. I also agree with the idea that Blackhawks might be happy if they don’t have any good goalies lol. Sharks prob try to get a mid round pick for him.
