Not at that cost they don't. Miller is worth more than that.

I don’t think VAN has the cap space for Beau. I’d also rly like to give Beau one more season. I’d rather Lou ship out Bailey to Anaheim, and Lou offer a higher draft pick to VAN to get that deal done. Let’s put it this way; if the season is still a failure for isles after getting Miller, Lou can sell off guys and likely get that first back. Ie; pending UFA Scott mayfield.

Isles shouldn’t try and add another old forward. Target someone who is 24 or don’t bother doing anything at all. You would just be creating more problems down the road.

Why the **** would they sign Klingberg for that much money to be their 3rd righty d man?

That Miller trade is unfair to Vancouver and the isles shouldn’t target someone who doesn’t fit Barzal’s timeline anyway.

Lou clearly couldn’t move salary to add a big name forward. In this cap environment it doesn’t shock me.

Let’s say Lou can’t find a taker for Bailey without getting asked for a draft pick - could it be possible Lou buys out Bailey to sign Kadri or another player? It’s $2.4m off the books.

Signing Kadri is a step back long term. Dumping Bailey or buying him out to do so makes a bad situation worse. Idk why isles fans r convinced that a 5 million dollar winger is what is keeping this franchise out of the playoffs. Really shows how little most isles “fans” know about hockey. I don’t have much patience for people who think they know everything when didn’t start following the team until after their first ECF appearance.

Just saw this. Your assumptions are ridiculous. Been a season ticket holder since I was 5 (parents introduced me to the game). You are not the isles leading GM here. This site is for fun. If you're so confident in your talents, go get an internship with the Isles and work your way up. Otherwise, calm down with the comments buddy.

I don’t see how you were a season ticket holder at five given the fact you had no income. Dude I’m a 22 year old moving out of his college apartment. I got a lot of time rn lol.

Edited: Parents had season tix, I then got my own few years ago.
And perfect! You're young. Go get an internship with the team! Sounds like you'd love it, and really learn how it all works behind closed doors.

My assumptions are based on facts. It seems like yours r just based on how u feel about bailey and how you feel about the roster. All I’m trying to do is point out that ur not addressing the isles needs. If you are just trying to predict what Lou does that’s also ok. But let’s be honest here. Lou isn’t gonna cap dump bailey. He doesn’t usually trade picks to move players who can still produce.

I’m not gonna base my life around my opinions on fake trades lol. I’m got a degree in telecommunications. All I do is base my opinion on what sources I can find and validate. It’s not my intention to be condescending about it.

But that's you assuming that Shayne G doesn't bring something of value back for the isles. If Shayne puts up 50 points again he's going to fetch at least a 2nd at the deadline if not more. This trade is essentially a hockey trade. And if anything it's harder for a player to put up points when they're on such a terrible team (see: Taylor Hall on Buffalo).

It depends on the situation for sure. In Ghosts case I don’t trust him.

He was pretty brutal on defense in Philly. IK his analytics have been better in Arizona but idk that I trust him.

Let's also recognize what the 27 year old Oliver Bjorkstrand trade returned for CBJ... It's a tough market out there and someone has to be shipped out to fit in Kadri. At least in my trade scenario, Arizona is retaining 50% salary, and the isles get a player I believe they need. I also do believe Kadri over Bailey is a noticeable upgrade. So YES, you kill several birds with one stone by doing the bailey for SG trade - cap space, defensive offenseman. It works.

That part might be true. But if they need to move Bailey’s salary I think it should be part of a deal for a star winger.

Well sure, that should have been the move. But it seems that Kadri is a done deal. You can't fit Kadri AND a star winger unless that winger is on an entry level contract, or you move out Bailey and another player...

Miller is not a fit for us. Not getting older and paying a 30 yr old 8M+ a year for 6-7 years. Haven't we learned out mistakes already??? Enough, Miller is not taking us over the top. Not trading anymore 1st rounders. We have dealt 3 of the last 4 1st rounders and what do we have to show for it??? STOP!

The answer is probably to not to sign Kadri tbh
