The canucks trade isn't a cap dump trade when we are giving up way more. Change it to Myers, Hoglander + a draft pick for future considerations then sure.

Yes I know. It's an edit trade from a previous post.

I don't understand why everybody wants to ship Hronek out of town. I like the JVR deal though, and would do that in a heartbeat, although I think it would take a prospect defenseman like McIsaac in place of Oesterle. I think Detroit likes Oesterle because of his versatility and hometown connection. It's part of why they brought Kampfer in as well. Sheer depth on both the NHL and AHL levels. Both Oesterle and Kampfer might end up in GR together, but he would have no value to a team like Philly. It would take a lot to get Philly to give up a 1st. Probably still more than Zadina/McIsaac/4th for 1st/JVR. If JVR had years beyond this one remaining it might be worth more to Philly but he's strictly a 1 year cap dump even though he may still be a useful player, which is debateable.

Because they are mad a #3/#4 guy is bad analytically when he plays on a terrible team, with no real support on the left side, and is played 1D minutes at 23m a night.

The second Hronek plays actual 2nd line minutes with actual support he will be fine .

That said I dislike the first trade and quite like trade #2. Not sure what the incentive is for Philly now that they blew their shot at Goudreau

If Philly wouldn't dump JVR with a 2023 1st to land Johnny Gaudreau, they aren't doing it for Zadina lol

Philly just doesn't gain that much by dumping him. He's only got a year left.

Maybe because you know nothing about hockey? Myers isn’t a cap dump….

Lol no they don’t. Lateral move on the blue line plus giving up on Hoglander? No chance.

And a draft pick???? Hoglander is already way too much to give to get out of the Myers contract

He is to Detroit he serves no purpose to Detroit. Detroit isn't in a win now mode so we don't need older more expensive, overpaid defensemen.
