I really don't disagree with this list.. Of course some could move up or down a few spots, but I'm just happy JFresh's community has a hint of intelligence.

the power of large crowds. pretty good list.

most overrated for me is probably debrincat and most underrated is giroux.

Thompson wasn't anywhere on these lists ... Almost 40 goals and 70 points..

Kirby Dach is really overrated in this ranking. He isn't half as proven as a lot of guys below him.

What's the rating for 4 and 5? Like what do they mean? And 6?

IIRC it was

7 - elite
6 - star
5 - 1st line
4 - 2nd line
3 - 3rd line
2 - 4th line
1 - Below NHL quality

I'd think he is a 5.25-5.5 but next year he could end up a 4 if he regresses.

Are any of the stars top forward prospects projected to make the team next season?

There has been some speculation about Johnston, since he's not AHL eligible next season. Doesn't look like very many people see Stankoven or Bourque in the NHL next season.

For lesser prospects, maybe Dellandrea or Shea, depending on how things play out.

I think Johnston should be given every chance to make the team, I don’t think he has anything left to prove in juniors. The stars should take the risk

Agreed. It's just a matter of finding a roster spot. I think Johnston and Dellandrea seem like the best candidates to be in the NHL this season. If it's both, then someone from the group of Tufte, Studenic, and Kiviranta is the odd man out and going on waivers. (Assuming nobody cares about Kero being waived again).

I think it’s between him and Dellandrea, Stankoven is going back to Juniors most likely, and Bourque will probably be on the 1st line in the AHL.

I think the Stars should try to package Dellandrea plus other assets to get a top 4 RHD like Severson, so that Johnston gets the spot.

Ideally he surpasses Seguin and plays on the 2nd line with Marchment and Gurianov (perfect play style combination for chemistry). Then the 3rd line would be Peterson Benn-Seguin.

Good for Heinen. I feel like in hockey more than any other sport, players are willing to take discounts to be where they'll be happiest-I like that it's not just about the money.

Made sense as we have seen it time and time again. Players like Heinen who leave Pitts system struggle to produce similar results and make their new deals look bad. As in Wpg probs would be on a third line with Lowry and Appleton which would probs not result in another 20 goal season

On this date 17 years ago, the first round of the 2005 NHL Entry Draft was held at the Westin Hotel in Ottawa. On that night, Sidney Crosby (PIT 1 OA), Bobby Ryan (ANA 2 OA), Jack Johnson (CAR 3rd OA), Carey Price (MTL 5th OA), Anze Kopitar (LAK 11th OA), Tukka Rask (TOR smile 21st OA), and TJ Oshie (STL 24th OA) were all drafted (as well as Marc Staal and Andrew Cogliano).

Also having their names called that night were Marek Zagrapan (BUF 13th OA), Sasha Pokulok (WAS 14th OA), and Alex Bourret (ATL 16th OA). None of them ever played in an NHL game.

If the Sens trade for Chychrun we will go from having 3 guys named Brown to 3 defensemen named Jake, Jacob, and Jakob

winnipeg seems like they are going to crash hard in the next few years. they are having a really hard time getting and keeping players.

Their management wants to be a contender but they’re a pretender. It’s a bad situation

Isn’t that the issue facing small market teams?

Can’t believe they have a hard time attracting talent though, I mean just look at the city:

looking at their roster they are a much better team on paper than their record suggests.

They also seem to have bad locker room/leadership issues, when your longtime coach resigns of his own free will, when your #2C informs the management two years before he's due to hit the market that he won't re-sign (and additionally all but admitting he wants out already), and when your #1C is putting in zero effort defensively, joking about concussing another player into oblivion and challenging him to a fight the first time they play each other after the hit, and in general coming off as a complete blowhard, it affects the rest of the team. I hope Kyle Connor and Cole Perfetti-the two players on the team that I genuinely like-get out of there ASAP.
