For that value the Sens are giving up I would be willing to make that deal after some very deep dive into his medical records and recovery.
There is a potentially huge upside there, however, I also don't see Philly moving him unless they don't think he can perform to standards with what they gave up for him.
Without having Ellis as a pairing with Provarov there are a lot of fo questions around him as well, so would be a tough move on the Philly side.

I was just looking at rosters around and noticed that they have alot of players on their RHD with the DeAngelo trade (De Angleo Risto Ellis Braun) and thought they might be ok moving on from him. Just a new thought thats all

As far as I’m aware no one knows when Ellis will play again. He has a monster contract and is on the wrong side of 30. He’s also on the wrong side of 6 feet too. Ottawa can’t trade for this dude. You would literally be better off trading for Karlsson with retention.

More or less the same as I am thinking Unless there are some really promising medical reports and a recovery process in place with a timetable then you don't touch him.

I could see Philly keeping him for the LTIR cap space, especially if they are still in on Kadri. They missed on Johhny G not being able to move contracts already.

You got to love the fact Philly took Nolan Patrick over Cale Makar and then traded Patrick for Ryan Ellis. Elite GM work by Ron and Chuck.

Don't remind me. Without knowing what we know now The Patrick trade wasn't bad.
