Not really that high on the DET deal, as I don't think Hronek is the right type of Dman the Canucks need.

The basic parts are there for the CBJ deal though. In my Miller auction ACGM a CBJ fan offered 2024 1st, Del Bel Belluz, Peeke and Nyquist, which I like a bit more. Obviously the 2023 1st is more desirable but I like the upside of DBB.

You're ignoring Hoglander, and Hronek isn't that much of an upgrade on Myers if any

On purpose Detroit has enough bottom 6 forwards.

Hoglander's not a bottom six forward, but not denying they have enough wingers

2nd/3rd line, depending on how many injuries there are

I'm sorry but if he is on Vancouver's 2nd line your coach should be fired. If he's on your 3rd line I'd make sure your coach is coming to work sober.

The players in your top 9 are better than Höglander.

That probably means there is still another shoe to drop for Vancouver, but the truth is it's hard to say what next season looks like for Hoglander. If he doesn't make the opening lineup, he'll spend some time in the minors since he's waivers exempt for a final year, but if he does, then maybe a player isn't traded until the end of the pre-season, who knows

Passing as Detroit. Hoglander a bit of a wildcard in that transaction but Hronek > Myers in about all ways at this point. Production, cap hit, age (24 vs. 32), team control, etc. They're signed the same length with Hronek at a $1.2M AAV discount ending in RFA (vs. UFA for Myers). Hronek better in terms of possession as well - marginally - last year. Hard to argue to trade a mid-pair guy coming into his prime for a mid-pair guy who seems to be quickly descending. And Hronek will finally be playing with an actual mid-pair guy this year too, so he should look quite a bit better for Detroit. Boiled down it's a mid-pair D for a gamble on a mid-6 wing while losing a 2nd rounder as Myers will be close to done at the end of the contract and Smith is a replacement-level guy.

While Myers is better defensively, Hronek has better offensive numbers 5 to 1 goal and 33 assists to 17 assists. Hronek has cap hit, age and potential trial on his side. Myers also does not fit rebuild, as in two years when Wi gs could be ready to make playoffs Myesr wil l be 34 and no way can wWings resign him.
