Don't listen the rumours, that's what we've learned this summer.

A lot of money for a one year deal, but who cares-the Ducks can easily afford it, and they can move him at the deadline to a contender (probably at 50% retained) for a big haul. Good signing.

Ducks have the cap space, so at least at the deadline they can get a haul for him

Good deal for both, Klingberg gets a shot to show he deserves that money long term and Anaheim gets some much needed help on the blue line + an asset they can flip at the TDL

Anaheim needed to reach the cap floor.

This signing made it happen and it's only for one year.

Anybody that thinks it's a bad signing does not know what a cap floor is.

Vote yes.

This is one of the better signings of free agency. Ducks still need help in the defense dept, someone with size and shutdown ability to play the left side, but this signing is a win-win for what it is.

Ducks can sell him at the TDL with money retained for a big haul, or they could end up extending him. Its not like the $7mil was needed, it just barely gets them past the cap floor as it is.

At the very least, this will help Anaheim to be more entertaining.

How many saw this coming. Ducks will score a solid pick at the deadline. Good work.

I will massively miss Klinger, he was one of my favourite players of this franchise. From his OT goal vs the Preds to his amazing playoff performance in the bubble, every single moment of his was entertaining.

I knew this was coming considering Dallas didn’t have the cap (and frankly wasted the majority of it on defence and grit grinders, looking at you Faksa and Suter).

I wish Klingberg the best of luck on the Ducks, and hope he mentors Drysdale well.

Silfverberg and Klingberg. Time for the berg brothers.

Now I'd suggest going after one of the Forsbergs.

Thought it would honestly be Kadri signing the one year deal with Anaheim

Either way Anaheim can sell him at the TDL for assets

Hard to be a plus player in Dallas' system. Not that he's a stalwart, but you need goal and goalie support to stay positive. It's getting better with new staff, young talent, and the emergence of Oettinger, but it hasn't been a great period for stats.

Klingberg did switch agents. His last agent is likely the one that closed the doors on all his opportunities by being too greedy or misjudging the market. Left him without a seat when the music stopped. Teams like Pittsburgh and Carolina likely would have been in @ $7Mish, but the routes they took were likely plan B after seeing what it would take to land Klingberg.

One year in Anaheim is a good trial run and leaves the possibility of joining a contender at the deadline.

Gibson is gonna have his work cut out for him with Fowler, Shattenkirk, Drysdale, and Klingberg on the blue line.

Seems like a great idea for a quality player to help the team and mentor youth and to buy a pick at the deadline. Hope it works better than the Hall deal a couple years ago
