Muzzin Waives for Sunny Southern California

Created by: OldNYIfan
Team: 2022-23 Anaheim Ducks
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 29, 2022
Published: Jul. 29, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
I'm not sure how the coaching staff are going to fill out the roster after training camp. Some possible call-ups from San Diego are shown on the imaginary Taxi Squad.

I wonder if Pat Verbeek's next move will be to sign RW Evan Rodrigues?

Rather just keep Muzz, he was our best Dman in the playoffs

Then tell your fellow Toronto fans to stop trading him to the Kings or Ducks.

Not nearly enough for me to even consider taking Muzzin

So you think I should change it to the Colorado pick? 'Cause I think that it's a pretty fair deal.

I’d drop it all together, don’t see a reason for us to give up a pick, a prospect, a young NHLer or anything here. TOR needs to move cap out and having 5M+ cap hit next year with Zegras, Terry and Drysdale all due for new deals. Honestly I don’t think just a 23 first is enough for me to take Muzzin on if all we send back is future considerations.

We can just go sign a Calvin DeHaan type FA or look elsewhere for 1 year cap dumps.

The second year with Muzzin instantly kills the deal for me

Thanks for the input. Glad we can always talk honestly. Where's @Lenny7?

I just see Terry and Z taking up at least 14M AAV, Drysdale could fall anywhere at this point. Getting a player with injury problems getting paid that much isn’t ideal us in my eyes. A trade up around 15 picks doesn’t really move the needle for me

We’re never going to agree 100% of the time haha, it’s all part of the offseason. We’ve had a few years of this now between what I’ll call the “original” Cap Friendly Ducks contingent between the two of us and Lenny tears of joy keeping each other as honest as possible makes us better hockey fans.

And a willingness to admit I may be completely alone in thinking this isn’t enough and I could be flat out wrong goes a long way as well

I wonder if Lenny has even seen the good news yet!tears of joy

The only think I will say in defending this idea is that I am assuming that it's a move of about 20 picks because it's specifically the middle of our three second-rounders, not the earliest, but I can certainly see your points, especially about the second year.

I'd really like Evan Rodrigues at #3RW.

I can see the reasons for wanting to make the trade don’t get me wrong. I just can’t bring myself past that second year at a 5.6M AAV

Silf should be back no? I like the idea of pairing him with McTavish

But if Silf isn’t going to be back I would 100% be on board for Rodrigues as our RW3
