Created by: Cardiac
Team: 2022-23 Carolina Hurricanes
Initial Creation Date: Jul. 29, 2022
Published: Jul. 29, 2022
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Jarvis is younger and has a year more of developing in him. They put up similar point totals this past season. Jarvis is younger but slightly less developed. Very fair trade imo based on point totals advanced stats and age difference.

They have similar value but Jarvis does have 2 more years of elc while Caufield is an RFA after the season. Think both teams are happy to keep their players an keep developing them

Keep Caufield. Regardless of who might end up the better player, you can't ignore his pace the last half of the season or his chemistry with Suzuki.
There might be a trade argument banking Caufield's potential against a more established player in a position of need, but you don't trade that kind of goal scorer for someone with similar production before determining whether he's capable of approaching that 48 goal pace over the course of a full season.

Not Jarvis, an established 25/26 year old C or RHD you could make an argument for.

22 goals and 35 points in 37 games under MSL capping it all off with his First Career Hat Trick to end the seasons
Regardless of his struggle under Ducharme for 30 games Caufield has shown remarkable consistency
Before he was a rookie he finished 3rd in Playoffs production in MTL going to a SCF
Last year He finished off the year even stronger once they fired Ducharme it was like flipping a switch he was just on point every game

All those on here forget the context we have on display
LAF in a full season and best to date was out done by Caufield in 37 games
Not the only 1st OA Caufield out produced as a Rookie either
Hughes struggled for what like 2 years before busting out
Caufiled struggled for 30 games

we're talking about *REM* Pitlick here right?

the same Rem Pitlick who scored 15 goals on a 23.1% shooting percentage last season?

the same Rem Pitlick who was available on waivers in the middle of last season so you got him for nothing?

slow down buddy

My point is no one wants him
Put him up in a deal with any fanbase
He's Colin White 2.0 without the Faceoff Ability
I just keep laughing at this post

No amount of you being Oblivious makes a dislike button needed

99% of habs fans don't watch other teams outside of their own, unfortunate truth as someone who lived in Montreal for over a decade.

So most habs Fans arent die hard QMJHL Supporters who follow stars from Junior up ?
Living somewhere and understanding its culture if you're not apart of it are not the same

I'm from the only Billingual Province front seat to intense hockey markets such as NS hockey but its nothing compared to Quebec
Those fans travel with kids to watch them play all over relgiously

Serge Drouin i've knowned long before i ever thought his son would actually make the NHL
He leads the Away Team Convoy for our Rival Halifax Moose Heads since like 2003 was the first time i met him

Reality is i've seen more Junior games this year then probably both you combined in the past 5
I talk to the people you're bad mouthing and they deffinately know hockey at all levels.
Especially since so many QMJHL players have been the backbone of the NHL 1990-2015 in particular at a very high rate

But i digress

Are you aware that the CHL includes two other leagues outside of the QMJHL? Not sure why you're even brining up the Q at all here when none of the 3 aforementioned players have EVER played in the Q lol

Did you attend anywhere near the volume of games in Context?
If not then your point is redundant
Im speaking to my experiences again In Context

Your excuse is you dont have to go to any because i didnt go to them all. . .
You seriously thought that made sense ?

The point was clearly linked between watching them play from Junior into the NHL
I didnt say i watched Every Player Ever just Establish what i actually know in response to your blind shot taken about just that

While you've just attacked a group of people blindly with Prejudice
I established a counterpoint in Context with Examples.
Your reply was rather .... telling

No I am not wrong. I find it a fair trade if anything it favors montreal. Caufield is a winger, jarvis is a winger. Caufield was 3rd in PPG for rookies from his draft year, Jarvis was 3rd in PPG for rookies from his draft year. The only different is .05 percentage points in their PPG. Over an 82 game stretch that is 4 points difference. I don’t care about caufields last 37 games, that doesn’t reflect upon his full season. It’s picking and choosing stats. I could say jarvis had 12 points in his last 12 games so based on that he is better. End of the day is that jarvis came into the league with half the development caufield had and preformed. Not to mention caufield averaged 3 minutes more TOI per game than jarvis. If jarvis plays those extra 3 minutes a game like caufield played he would have put up 47 points in those 67 games caufield played. Caufield put up 43. Points adjusted per TOI shows jarvis is much more efficient. Caufield averaged a point every 26 minutes. Jarvis averaged a point every 23.6 minutes. The only reason and I mean the only reason the canes would do this is because caufield is a sniper while jarvis is a playmaker. Objectively jarvis is younger, less developed, a better producer, larger, and prove to me you read this by saying pinto beans and just a better player in general. Again the fact caufield was better in the last 37 games doesn’t mean anything, in the entire season he was good but not as good as jarvis. Honestly looking into the adjusted stats jarvis is far and away the better player but you don’t want to admit that.

Same Rookie year
Jarvis didnt finish top 3 in a SCF before his rookie year
Again Caufield Smoked him in 37 games with 22 goals and 35 assists .

You're banking on us writing off Caufield over 30 games
Ignoring the fact he was top 3 on our first SCF team since Roy was here
Then struggled for 30 games
That's where you want us to stop

But we remember 22 goals 35 points in 37 games finishing with a Hat Trick to end the year
While you suggest that means nothing while explains why 30 games define him as having no value or extremely less.
Its an argument that contradicts itself

I mean he did more the LAF did in his best year to date
Is LAF now the equivelant to Jarvis in trade value?
