Canucks have missed the boat for years in not signing, drafting and trading for great young Canadian players from their own backyard in B.C.........and the pattern seems to be continuing with their new management team of Allvin and Rutherford.

Missed the boat? Who says they were available to them in the first place. They had no chance at guys like Byram

They have missed out on lots of players from B.C. playing in the back yard besides Bryam.

Do you think that the Canucks have done a great job scouting, drafting and signing local hockey players playing in BC Junior, NCAA, WHL and NHL in the last 10 years?

Well we had Jim Benning in charger so it’s not exactly like we had very good management in the first place. We did manage to get Quinn Hughes, Brock Boeser, Thatcher Demko, and Bo Horvat in the last 10 years. We also got some undraftwd players like Stecher on our team. Not a huge amount of players but all became a part of our core. I’m sure Allvin and Ruthford will turn things around. There is also nothing wrong with scouting and drafting European players. If they are good players, why does nationality matter?

Give me a list of them. Obviously hindsight is 20/20. The only one I can think of is Tkachuk but he isn’t even from BC

I don't know where to stop but here are some players from B.C. that Canucks have missed out on as follows:

Shea Theodore
Shea Weber
Devon Toews
Tyson Barrie
Martin Jones
Tristan Jerry
Milan Lucic
Brendan Gallagher
Evander Kane
Matthew Barzal
Jamie Benn
Jordie Benn
Alex Kerfoot
Sam Reinhart

You’re using hindsight as your argument. You can’t do that. It’s not a fair argument. Teams should draft players based on where they played in juniors. Pretty pointless comment…

I agree with what you are saying.......But the Canucks have missed out on so many players right in their backyard playing on the Vancouver Giants, Kamloops Blazers, Prince George Cougar and BC junior League with NCAA Scholarships,
