May I ask why you are attaching picks to Hoffman and Drouin to clear cap space just to leave 4M in cap rooom????

What is the point of that other than just being obsessed with cap space?

I wish we can get that for Hoffman and Drouin. But Ryan Ellis would help out but is signed for way too long

The only way the Ducks take Hoffman is with picks attached to him. We don't want him, you'll have to pay us to take him off your cap hit.

let team start like that see where they are at trade deadline then either add or sell . nothing will make this team any better at this point so continue stock with high end youth ,next draft is loaded

Sp after trading Petry you trade for an RHD not quite as good as Petry but with the same cap hit and more term.

I am not sure Anaheim accept this trade if it’s Hoffman and a second for future considerations

Ok I thought you were adding 2nd round picks from Montreal to the other teams to get rid of Hoffman which would make no sense. I see now you are trading in return for a 2nd. I guess tha makes more sense but unlikely that Hoffman gets a 2nd. Drouin I can see getting a 2nd

Trust me I remember some obnoxious Hab's fans were posting Petry to Detroit ACGMs 4 to 5 times a day and expecting a 1st and a top prospect in return. How could I forget. But most team don't pay more for a replacement who isn't as good.

comparing the two is not the issue, if he wants to go then your in a spot. nothing wrong with ellis a proven top nhl dman plus he fills needs . if my post was accepted it would not a loss in anyway to the team

Why pay to take on a bad contract like Ellis's when you can get paid to take on a bad contract. Ellis is 31 and his play has already started to decline and 2023 is going to be a deep draft so keep the 2nd and that would give you 3 2nd round picks and could be used to get you a 3rd 1st round pick.
